How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewEven though we really only used one room, we liked how there were so many rooms and the master bathroom was nice too. And it had a usable garage.
I didn’t like how we had a difficult time getting into the house, due to miscommunication and the fact that we were killing roaches every day.
It was a pleasure to have Manni and family stay over at our place. They took good care of the place. I sent them the code to the house before checking in but for some reason they didn’t see it. We take care of our place to make sure there are no pests on our property and this is the first time we hear about roaches in our place. We have taken extra steps to make sure that this is not the case again.

Verified reviewWhen we arrived, there was a basket of snacks, a bottle of wine, and a note card. The fridge was stocked with water and pop. I could tell the host knew what to provide because she was also an experienced traveler. We appreciated everything down to the fresh and abundant towels.
Best of the best guests ever. Deborah and family were very considerate and neat and took the best care of the place. Would definitely like to host them again.

The only thing bad about it was the neighbor to the left of the house he was yelling and screaming it was scary.
We have been hosting for the past three years and this is the first time we have received complaints about our guests from all our neighbors. This a message one of them sent us: “Can you please screen your guests better and update your house rules if needed or other appropriate steps. The other neighbors aren’t happy because your guests go banging on people’s doors and garages so early in the morning yelling in the streets. I’m not sure what their response will be. This video shows a tiny piece of what happened around 5AM on Saturday and they’re still here causing a nuisance being loud and blasting loud music”

The neighborhood was not exactly as described by other reviewers. Next door neighbor was friendly, but immediate surrounding areas were not walkable.
It was a pleasure to host Kayla and family. They were respectful of the home and left it in great condition and were easy to communicate with. Verified reviewVery clean, spacious and appreciated the snacks and wine left for us. It has everything you need and great that you can use the garage to park the car.
We felt it needed a little more dinnerware and some wine glasses but other than that, it was perfect.
Megan and company were amazing guest. Communication was smooth, the place was left in great condition, and the house rules were respected. I hope to host her again in the near future.

Verified reviewSpacious, lots of amenities; washer, dryer, cooking utensils, and dishes. Garage was available for use and a pedestrian gate and cameras outside both added to the security while we were there.
Steep stairs, the neighborhood, ability to get into the property, and the ability to contact the owner upon arrival was difficult; several calls were made and all went to VM until I called from a different phone and sent an email via booking.com.

Verified reviewThe house is beautiful and very spacious. We enjoyed having all of the comforts of home while traveling. The master bath is amazing. The bed was a little firm but still comfortable (I like a medium to soft bed).

It really was a lovely stay and home. The location is in an area that is still being developed, so not walkable. Bring hangers and trash bags if you plan to stay for longer than a couple of nights.
It was a pleasure to host Angela and her son. They were respectful of the home and left it in great condition and were easy to communicate with. They are welcome back any time. We actually left a box of trash bags in a pantry opposite the powder room. We shall leave them in a more visible place, like under the sink, next time. Also, we have added to our supplies hangers.

Verified reviewThe place was beautiful and soooo cozy! The bedrooms was perfectly sized. The bathroom literally was jaw dropping. The place was so close to the city. We were there for a concert and ordered an Uber to get to the Toyota Center and it took 7 minutes to get there with traffic. There was 7 of us who stayed there and we all enjoyed it. The place was just so comfortable and inviting. I want to buy a house that looks exactly like it cause it was that amazing to me.
Literally the only complaint that I can think of would be that the couch there has been sit on quite a few times. The sofa probably needs to be replaced in the near future. But it literally wasn't a big deal to us at all. It wasn't uncomfortable but the cushions definitely don't stay in place and can be kinda hard to get up from lol. But again it wasn't a big deal at all but if I had to just say one thing about it. That would be it. Other than that everything else was amazing!!!!

The cleanliness was not good. Ants in the guest bedroom, sheets had spots on them. Master bedroom shower had strands of hair, found chicken nugget under the stove, cutting boards were not cleaned(we had to buy bleach to clean them), dirt behind refrigerator
We take precautions against possibility of aunts. We have not noticed any and no guest has ever mentioned it as a problem. We shall take extra precautions to make sure there is none in the house. Our refrigerator has a casing around it and it would take a special type of handyman to move it and look behind it. It is puzzling to me how the guest was able to move it and notice that there was dirt behind it!!

The cabinets in the kitchen were labeled, so it was easy to quickly locate cooking supplies, etc. Such beautiful decor throughout with comfortable bedding and quality linens. We appreciated the welcome basket with a personal card, a bottle of wine and delicious chips! Thank you for a folder of places to visit and unique restaurants to consider!!
