Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

This motel is a hidden gem. Clean. Has great coffee service and unlimited water. So nice. Great value. We stayed in town for a wedding. It was just what we were looking for.

King bed room was smaller than expected. Pool was kind of cold during most days of our stay. It was heated and warmer on our last night (Friday), so not sure if they turn on heat during weekends or had some issue. Car parking is next to the rooms and sometimes you might hear cars as they are turned on. Other than that, we had a good stay!
Good location, right next to a bus stop. Bus goes to downtown Monterey. Room was clean and staff was nice.

Very basic accommodation, possibly a bit overpriced for this type of accommodation.
A great location to visit Monterey & surrounding areas, only a short drive into the main town. Felt very safe & welcoming.

No breakfast and you did hear planes in the morning.
Very nice simple clean room located on motel row (on the end nearest Monterey) so getting to Monterey was easy. Property seemed well cared for. The staff was excellent.

The staff wasn’t so friendly but it didn’t affect my stay which is considerable good. Swimming pool only opens at 9am , I wish it opened earlier

All of these are very minor! The pool was cold and although it was covered by a roof, it was open to the elements. Since the indoor pool was part of the big appeal, this was a little disappointing. Parking was crowded and a little tough to get into (especially with others parked over the line), but totally fine since we could park anywhere on the property. You could hear other guests outside early in the morning being sort of loud, although that's on them and we didn't complain. Drinking water had a funky taste, so it would be nice if they had some place to refill water bottles.
Very clean and nicely renovated with spotless paint, nice counters, bright and fresh white linens. I've stayed in a lot of dated motels in the Monterey area, so the renovated/modern feel was a nice surprise - made it feel more upscale. I didn't notice any smells at all, which is great - sometimes there can be a cleaner or paint smell even when clean. Appliances worked well. Staff was really friendly! Beds and pillows were reasonably comfortable. Minor: Coffee in the room was decent.

It was great. If I had to nit-pick, I would say the pool said it was heated, and maybe it was warmer on the shallow end but on the deep end it was freezing still. The vending machines would only let you do the exact amount of money, and we didn't have change so that was odd. But these are very minor issues that didn't ruin our experience at all.
Great location. 10-15min from everywhere we went to in Monterey. Very clean, super comfy beds, no issues with amenities. Everything was very nice. I loved that they had a machine to refill ice and water.

We were allocated a room close to the street although I have left a message asking for a quiet room. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
