Nothing really other than was concerned that we had a pet friendly room. Usually they have a smell that can't be cleaned but didn't have any issues.

This historic hotel was really neat. Loved looking at the furnishings and items hanging. The bar was original to the hotel. The rooms were fine with TV and good sized bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful and made to order. Not a huge selection but more than enough to satisfy.

I do wish they didn’t charge a late fee for arrivals after 10:00 PM. Also - you cannot leave hotel easily after that time (i.e. if you left something in the car or need to walk your dog).

Charming historic hotel - well cared for. Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Pet-friendly. Delicious breakfast.

I would really have enjoyed access to the balcony out front to sit and sip a cup of coffee.

The old beautiful structure, the ambiance, the staff, the apparent Christian atmosphere. Accommodations were all great.

During serving hours, I would remove the plastic wrap covering the various dishes.

The breakfast was fine with a selection of baked options, cereal, granola and fruit. Two egg dishes were also offered along with coffee, tea, and juice.

There was nothing not to like.

We had stayed there once before and were delighted with the place. This second stay was just as pleasant. The accommodations were fine, and the staff was so pleasant. On arrival we asked if the room had a refrigerator. (We hadn't asked when we made the reservation.) Unfortunately, the clerk told us, all the rooms with refrigerators were booked, but with a twinkle in her eye she said she'd see what she could do. We were in the room less than ten minutes when there was a knock at the door and a very nice young fellow brought in a mini refrigerator and set it up for us. The people were so friendly and the place is so nice, we'll look forward to staying there again.

Restaurant not open every evening and no coffee in room.

Beautiful hotel room was great. Disappointed the restaurant was not open in the evening but the breakfast was great. Could use coffee in the room but otherwise great place to stay and the staff were wonderful.

I couldn’t be more happier with staying here. I was stranded near Des Moines and the tow truck driver recommended this hotel. I arrived at 8 pm and was greeted by staff and invited into their restaurant which was amazing. The food came out hot and fresh and breakfast was awesome! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you all again for a wonderful stay and oh I forgot to mention the hot water for the shower was instant and stayed constant. Super awesome!

Charming historic hotel on main drag. Friendly staff; good food in on-site restaurant. Sometimes there's live music in the restaurant. Rooms are clean and quiet. Feels safe.
