I had to make a lot of noise to get someone's attention to check in. I waited for five full minutes for someone to pick up the phone at the door. Apparently it's broken, so I made a lot of noise with the key drop lid at the key window until someone came running.

The water temperature was very inconsistent. Sometimes it was nice and hot, but a couple of times it would barely get lukewarm and I'd have to wait an hour or so to shower. The TV was old. I couldn't plug up my gaming system as the HDMI would only transfer the audio, no video. I tried every workaround on the Internet to fix it, but no dice. I think this was my biggest issue at the place. The room phone would go off at 5:30 in the morning and not stop until around 7-8, so I ended up having to unplug it. Lighting was a bit dim and the lamp by the door didn't work at all. There was a little bit of cosmetic damage to the room but nothing big enough to affect my stay. Bed cover had a cigarette burn hole and the bathroom vent looked like it was flex taped to the ceiling.

The location was perfect. Very quiet and felt pretty safe as a solo traveler. There were a couple of restaurants and a gas station nearby, and it was only a 10ish minute drive to Kings Dominion. Check in was quick and easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable, I had the best sleep in a hotel that I ever had. I had a fridge and microwave, which served me well for eating in. The water pressure in the shower was nice and the bathroom had a full tub, so I was able to soak my feet after a long day at the park.

Bathroom had dirty walls. No tissues & very little toilet tissue. Small bath towels & no hand towels. Breakfast was sparse. One chair in the room for 2 queen beds. It was cold & they had not turned the heat on. Took a long time to warm up.

Great price & location. The hotel was basic. Clean bedding & no bugs!

pillows are very thick and hurt my neck. i had to stop using it. floor was dirty and sticky. my feet were black in the shower after walking around the room. The TV couldn't be fixed from a heavy green color. Sink downstem tap was corroded. The shower curtain didn't stop water and allowed the bathroom to get flooded. Air conditioning is very loud and was hissing and wheezing during the night with very high-pitched noise. It also blows directly at you sleeping and can make you sick.

Definitely a working persons motel. Also there was an odd smell coming from the room/ac from the room 3 doors down that was unpleasant. But only when you were walking past.

It wasn’t a problem for us, but there were no chairs in our room. We had some lawn chairs that we brought in and that was fine. It may have been that they had not planned to have guests in that room that night but that they made an exception to meet our need to be accommodated on the ground floor. It was just did, but probably was not like that in all of the rooms.

We needed a place to sleep for one night on the journey from Florida to Canada. The motel is near the highway, is pet friendly, priced right, comfy beds, good shower, and the lady who welcomed us at check in was friendly and helpful. With our particular needs when we explained them to her.

The hotel seems to have been nicer maybe a few years ago, but they are struggling with upkeep. Little to offer in breakfast, some potholes in parking lot, holes in the chairs in the dining area, etc.

Personally I had no issues. But another guest had issues with their pet policy. Be aware before booking that multiple pets seem to have an additional charge per animal.

Staff was very nice to us. Greatly appreciated their kindness. It seems family owned so I was happy to support them.
