Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe only had 1 issue. Our room number was 211 and at time we could not get into our room. Looked like the keycard worked, and using the app to unlock the door also turned green but the door was still stuck. Maintenance came extremely fast and was able to get the door open.
I didn't eat at breakfast but my family did and they had nothing but great things to say about the food and service. The pool was very nice and clean. The fitness center was also clean and organized. The TV in our room was very large, we didn't expect that.

Czech RepublicThe staff is not very welcoming. When you enter the restaurant, they don't greet you but rather ignore you. The receptionist has charged me twice the amount I have booked the hotel for and tried to convince me this is correct. Had to fix it with her colleague next day. The swimming pool was dirty, with plastic and hair floating there, we walked away.
The location is good and despite it being a rather old hotel, all worked well and was clean.

United StatesWasn't happy when I asked where the free breakfast was served & the clerk said I'll check. See then told me we didn't get the free breakfast after checking her computer I wasn't happy When I booked the room it was advertised free breakfast. And then of course when we get there no breakfast. Guess we won't be booking Hilton properties any time soon. Also I don't know why you don't offer queen size beds
We had 2 kids with us & it was nice they gave us a room close to the pool & on the first floor

I was greeted with professional courtesy. I was not told there was no contentnental breakfast as some brand hotels include. When I asked the staff sent me in circles as if they didn't know. Terrible service.

United StatesThe hallways leading to the pool were SHIVERING cold (the thermostat on the wall in the snack area said 52). The pool area itself was not as cold, but it was quite chilly. I also wonder how much chlorine was in the pool. My daughter and I both had a rash covering our arms and legs after swimming, and we have never had that from any pool.
The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean

United StatesI didn’t like that some guest don’t get the complimentary breakfast depending how they booked. We booked with Booking.com and received vouchers for it. Whereas my family that stayed did not. The Elevators are kind of sketchy and worked intermittently. The hallways are long and kind of confusing.
The pool area was the best hotel pool area I’ve ever been to.

PhilippinesI stayed at Room 328, and sadly, the sink in the bathroom needs de-clogging. Also, I found it strange that there wasn't a mini-fridge in the room. I would have given them a higher rating if it weren't for these.
If you are familiar with US domestic travel, then you are probably aware of the various US hotel chains out there that range from super budget to super premium. Doubletree by Hilton I would say is somewhere in the middle leaning more towards premium. This means in my opinion a hotel property that offers rooms that are clean, beds that are comfortable, bathrooms with hot water and free toiletries, restaurants/cafes onsite, a fitness center and/or a swimming pool. The Doubletree property at Arlington Heights, Chicago meets all of these and at reasonable rates. Parking is also ample, and if you don't want to eat at the hotel, there are restaurant choices nearby, and there is a Denny's right next to the hotel parking lot. And the free cookie upon check-in I thought was a nice touch! Good job Doubletree!

United StatesNot worth what we paid. The pool closes early without explanation. The toilet made a loud sound. We had to change rooms due to the first one smelling of smoke. The breakfast was 20 dollars a person!! A water bottle 2.50. Old school hotel.
The staff were okay and helpful. The pool was good for kids. It was heated. The beds were good and second room clean enough. Floor seemed dirty,no bag in trash cans.

United StatesWalls are pretty thin, but not an issue if you’re not excessively loud, which no one was.
We were in town for events in the area, so the location was perfect. Definitely not for anyone wanting to visit Chicago, specifically, as it’s about half an hour or more depending on traffic. Rooms were cozy enough and the staff was great.
