all but one ice-maker functioned. no outdoor pool, as it was on the fritz, apparently. game room unavailable. hallways were extremely muggy and hot. restaurant was unavailable. gift store unavailable. continental breakfast was a joke.

The staff were awesome. the cleanliness was par-to-good. the room was spacious and accommodating.

Grass and limbs wasn't cut in picnic area....walk way was full leave in there....not Noth lights see by ...coffee shop was close...no microwave was in our room...AC wasn't working properly in building only in room...didn't have sausage or bacon with breakfast...no arcade for kids no outdoor games. ....hot all ver building except inside living area

The breakfast buffet did not have a meat to go with gravy and eggs. We had a patio, but couldn't access it because the sliding doors are bolted shut. Apparently, that's legal? We paid extra for our dog to stay as it is supposedly dog friendly. The check-in staff told us we could have a late checkout and to call in the morning to confirm. When I called in the am I was told that we couldn't check out late (even though over 100 rooms were vacant the night before). I was told we could only extend by a half hour. After we left the hotel, I got another condescending call from the desk staff at 11:50 am, telling me that I had no business being there as checkout was already past due. I was driving on the highway at that time and have no idea what she was talking about. The hotel has well exceeded it's hay day and the morning front desk staff is a rude, condescending incompetent piece of work. It serves its purpose if you don't mind being annoyed.

Breakfast disappointing- waffles/cereal and staff in dining are his in corner and did not interact. Was talking and did not open until after 7 am. No towels for pool Laundry soap dispenser broken and no front desk supplies. Front desk had no supplies for anything(towels, personal items, silverware, ) vending machines for snacks only. Front entrance nice and welcoming, however rooms and hallways extremely worn and broken down. Bed comfortable.

Cleanliness. The entire time we were there no maid or other housekeeping staff came to clean even down our hallway. Maintenance. On our first night I called in and issue with smoke/fire alarm and microwave. I asked it not be taken care of until the next day. The next day, nothing was done. I had to go to the desk and remind them because no one answered the phone the night before when i called.

Location is great. Staff was good. There could be more attention.

I didn’t like that the facilities are really dated not in a nostalgic way, but the hotel needs a complete upgrade the rooms the doors need paint the fixtures are old. The light in the bathroom didn’t work. The electrical in the room had to make use of too many extension cords it just needs to be rewired. It’s a nice Structure of a hotel. It’s just in desperate need of some serious upgrades.

I like that it was located close to a lot of restaurants and various attractions.

It smelled dingy and a lot of weed (pot) was everywhere and it stunk. Trash over flowing in the trash cans. Bed linens didn’t fit the bed. Needed towels and called for them and for our room to be cleaned. We were there for 4 days and they didn’t clean it up at all. Had to go to the front desk to get towels. Our Tv broke and they had to come fix it. Very odd.

None of the outside lights were working. It was very hard to turn into the parking lot. The hotel looked like it was in need of a renovation.

There were stains on curtains, carpet, walls and furniture. There was gum on the carpet near the bathroom. The exhaust fan did not work in the bathroom.

The amenities showed an indoor pool, and I as an avid swimmer looked forward to a small swim workout but to my dismay, the pool was only about 15 yards long, not for swimming but only for splashing around. It had a jacuzzi but a family of 3 kids occupied it, unable to use it by others.

I took my family for a short weekend visit to Colonial Williamsburg and booked this hotel manly for location. It was a nice facility, well placed check-in desk, lobby with a fireplace, reading library and historic curiosities as it sits on top of historic battlegrounds, since the name of this establishment. The room was adequate for 4 adults, specially when we applied our own air-mattress for our son to sleep on. We missed a microwave, but breakfast was included and was plentiful in a nice dining area.

Carpets, wallpaper and light fixtures in hallways were kind of shabby.

I loved how close it was to Busch Gardens and restaurants. I also thought the lobby and breakfast area were nice.

My first room was not good. It had an extremely heavy with a musty smell. I don't usually need to ask for a new room, but this was a different situation, and I did get a new room.

Breakfast was great. The common area was really big and nice. The bed & pillows were really comfortable. The staff were all very accommodating & friendly. I got a new room and it was good. I appreciate the kindness of everyone.

Elevators acted like they didn’t want to work, musty smell in halls, cobwebs on air vents, some ceiling tiles missing showing brown spots. Was told room was cleaned upon request and fully cleaned on day 3. Room was never cleaned even when requested during 4 day stay.

Close to everything, Indoor pool was perfect for the teen, cozy lobby with fireplace, and free breakfast that was good.

Our room was very clean however it had a stale musty odor as did the halls of the hotel because of the old dirty carpet and curtains. There was also a roach in our bathtub.

Only advice I can give is to have maintenance quality check the rooms daily for easy repairs. Little things can make a big difference!

Staff were super friendly and seemed happy to be working there. The building is old but overall well taken care of for the amount of people that stay there daily. Huge conference areas and lobbies. Very beautiful architecture, too!
