How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFor those passing through the region, it is worth staying here. We liked the location relatively close to Crater Lake, the staff are very helpful, is pet friendly and it has excellent value for money.
There is noise from the road nearby, I'm a light sleeper and it bothered me a little.

Verified reviewOur room was exactly as described. Very comfortable, very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was very convenient to have the store available for coffee, food supplies, etc.
We had a ground floor room and someone above us loudly walked the floor all night long, so we got little sleep. Next time I would try to reserve an upstairs room.

Verified reviewNot anything.
The ants in the room, and losing power at the start of my second night, and trucks flying down the road outside so fast that they'd rattle the door in the frame. When the power was lost I honestly just left and got a room in Klamath Falls. Also had one of those beds so soft that it ceases being comfortable.

Verified reviewI had a dog with me. Apparently I needed to reserve a pet friendly room with after a work around from plus even more money was accosted. The real culprit in this is booking a high should be set up to have a “book a pet friendly room option” as part of the website

Verified reviewThis delightful motel was very updated and pleasantly modern. The decor and furnishings, esp the bathroom, were great! The bathroom had a heater and there was an in room fridge and microwave. There were convenient USB and power outlets by the bed. The motel was part of a convenience store so snacky foods were readily available. Great communication via text prior to arrival for all necessary information about room and check in process.
Walls are thin - could hear guy next to me snoring and people above me walking around. Highway noise was present but was less prominent after dark. Places to eat were about 10-15 miles away and not a lot of options. Used convenience store for ice prior to hiking but was out of order on second day.

Verified reviewLocation was great and they text you all the information you need beforehand. My late check in went very smoothly just using my phone. Room was exactly like the pictures and was good enough for a 1 night stay with the basic amenities
Room should be more thoroughly cleaned, you could see previously killed mosquitos on the walls and ceilings

Verified reviewThe hotel room was lovely, no super loud AC or drafty room, just nice sheets, the cleanest bathroom I've ever had in a hotel, and a nice tv. We had good hot water and water pressure as well as additional blankets already placed in the room without being requested (so no trying to hunt them down!) which was good as we came to the hotel rather late. Staff were friendly, the store on site was nice and had a little bit of everything, and overall it was a great place to stay the night and have a nice shower before heading off.
I think we found a hairtie that was still in the trashcan but like, legitimately? No complaints of any substance.

Verified reviewNear Crater Lake. Not in town.
Walls are paper thin. Can hear every word, step and other things in other rooms. Highway noise is loud. Mold from water leaking above in bathroom ceiling and shower stall.

Verified reviewA decent, unpretentious, place to stay for two night while we visited Crater Lake and Klamath Falls. It’s not fancy, but the room was clean, the bathroom modern, and the bed comfortable. Very good value for the cost. The owners/staff were responsive. We had a bit of an issue with hot water and they got on it right away. I appreciated having a microwave and refrigerator as there weren’t many places close by to eat. I would stay again if I was in the area.
The street outside was a bit noisy during the night.

Verified reviewOur room didn’t have hot water! I called they several times but the problem never got resolved. After a long day traveling, I cannot take a shower. The sound proof is bad. I can clearly hear chatting and alarm from upstairs.

Verified reviewLocation and communication with the staff (only by text)
Our first floor room was in front of a light and thousands of mosquitoes entered the room. Dead mosquitoes on the ceiling from past residents were all over. Hot water didn’t worked over night in the same room as well.

It was close to a busy road and the traffic was quite loud. Also our room had so many mosquitoes inside.

Verified reviewWe like the close.proximty to Crater Lake. The bed was very comfortable.
There was no screen on the bathroom window and the check-in process/Ring bell was remote (no.staff.on.site.after.hours). No one answered the Ring for us not for others along with the posted phone number. However, once we understood the remote key process it was super easy but we had to contact the hotel rep via the Booking site.
