How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

WiFi was glitchy and slow.
Location and convenience of restaurants, pharmacy etc... nearby and or walking distance. Great location point to surrounding areas of interest.

The entrance to the hotel parking lot was inefficient
We liked the comfortable beds and the quiet heating/AC unit.

Hot water cut out during second shower of the morning. Mom got frozen washing her hair. We didn’t have time to report it.

The only complaint is that the AC was loud. Also, We were in a room with a door adjoining our room and the next, which meant that we could hear the neighbor’s TV. While the adjoining doors are handy for large families, the rooms would benefit from better sound mitigation. And, frankly, it was my mistake accepting a room with the doors- should have asked for a different room. I’m guessing they would have accommodated that.
The Courtyards are the younger siblings of the Fairfields and are still very comfortable and have very similar amenities. Our King room was spacious, with a couch to create a separate sitting area. The bed was very comfortable, the room modern and clean and the staff very helpful and attentive. The hotel is a quick drive to downtown Middlebury and has some fast food and a grocery store across the street. Very handy. We would certainly stay here again.

Ac system wasn't working in first room but only because they were just switching the system over for the colder season
The customer service was amazing. The young person who helped went above and beyond to assist me in changing my room due to ac malfunctioning.

The town has no taxi or uber. If you do not have your own vehicle, you will be walking a lot.
The room and facility is nice but to my opinion overpriced. The town is little and the location is not close to the center. in order to be that pricey. Breakfast was not included. I have paid for breakfast and removed meats from it and was still charged full price for it. The staff is very nice, came to the rescue each time needed. We loved the fresh air, lots of nature, very clean town and nice people!

The air conditioner was extremely loud. I hate liquid soap in the shower ( personal preference )

Dirty bathroom fan, as said no microwave but was one in room for meal, told they could not accommodate gluten free diet need after I arrived. Could have brought my own meal from home with the microwave in room.

I had asked for an upgrade with a jacuzzi we were given a room with a jetted tub, which is not a jacuzzi .Hated paying for an upgrade when I got what I didn’t ask for .

There was a staff woman in the bistro and she was very unpleasant and made it seem like we were an inconvenience to her. We were ordering coffee and breakfast and she never looked at us and had her back to us the whole time. She did this 3 mornings in a row so I finally went to the front desk and made a complaint.
We have stayed here times and the accommodations are very nice. Location is great for what we needed.

We paid almost $300 for one night and it was a very basic slightly dated hotel. Plus since there is no free breakfast they charged us another $50 for two omelettes. I felt that it was ridiculously overpriced for what you get there.
