Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesCafe Maurice. See above.
I liked everything connected to the hotel itself. My problem is the piratical Cafe Maurice. Though the staff were nice and hard working, there is NO WAY a fried egg on a bagel should cost more than $20.

AustraliaA bit of a walk (uphill getting back to hotel) from union square but overall quite close to places of interest or transportation.
Good sized room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Nice modern decoration, very clean, very comfy beds, very nice staff. Only noticeable street noise was fire engine here and there, but otherwise very quiet.

AustraliaAlthough it was advertised as Union Square and it is close by (10 mins walk) it's in a part of town I didn't feel comfortable going out in once dark, so stayed put. The in-house restaurant/bar was sporadically open so didn't give much confidence. Although the rooms refreshed, still old school tapware and a shower curtain!
The rooms were well appointed. Good linen and felt clean. Once in the property -I felt safe. Best hotel room as far as USB ports everywhere and decent TV. Nice wallpaper & decor.

United StatesThe location was not ideal but the security guard made it okay.
Great place. Seems like they recently remodeled, and it looks really nice. They had a great security guard that guards the front at night and have a really good restaurant inside. The staff was super friendly. We have clean towels and sheets every day.. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash was super good and left my curly hair looking amazing.

United StatesBilling mistake, there is still a $400 pending charges on my debit card that has not been released 5 days after our stay there, it was a prepaid booking thru Booking.com, but was still billed in error on my card and still has not been reversed after theyve promised a prompt action will be taken for their error, an unnecessary inconvenience.

PhilippinesThere's no parking space nearby so we had to use the valet service which was a bit expensive. The location of the hotel is not the most ideal place. Lastly, the air condition was not working well. It was a bit warm in the room we stayed in even if the temperature is the lowest setting already.
It is a value for money hotel. There are restaurants near the place. The staff were friendly as well.

SingaporeThe amount of space in the room was not ideal for solo-travelling as it had two queen-sized beds and if the room can be customised to just have one of them, it will feel more spacious for me as a solo-traveller.
Despite being located just next to the Tenderloin area, security was great once I was in the property and I felt safe while inside. I was surprised that in the small amount of space, the hotel was able to provide a fitness centre and I enjoyed working out in there.

United StatesLimited menu choices in the restaurant. We expected to be able to order a hot meal; we ended up with a mediocre pizza. Bar/restaurant seemed short-staffed, both for weekend breakfast and evening meal. Breakfast items ran out or were nearly out (croissants, Danish, oatmeal -- who would expect oatmeal to run out?) Valet service was much slower than we were told; we would like to have a better estimate of time required to get our car. If we had known it would take more than 30 minutes we could have planned better.
Room was clean; furnishings were in good, clean condition. The window screen was flapping in the breeze, but we called facilities and they came very quickly and fixed the screen. Staff seemed genuinely interested in fixing it to our satisfaction.
