How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The shower leaked so that every time someone has a shower, the bathroom floor got really wet and we had to use extra towels every day to try and keep the floor dry. They could make it easier to make tea by providing a kettle and tea bags instead of tea "pods" for the coffee machine.
Beds are nice and comfortable. Tea/coffee making facility in the room. Lovely hot showers. Fridge and safe in the room. Staff were great.

Breakfast variety is poor There was only limited room available for the set-up which lead to a rather chaotic situation of people running across each ocher while serving themselves. Additionally the plates, cups spoons, forks and knives used at breakfast are "single use" items made of plastic. Common use in USA but not what I expect at Marriott and for sure not very ecologic. Room is rather small but common for NYC
Well situated to explore North Manhattan. Hotel location is close to Central Park and Broadway theaters. Subway station on 7th ave only 1 block away. Restaurants nearby and Times Square is within walking distance. Nice view over the city from 18th floor Friendly staff.

I did get locked out of my room as the battery had ran out in the door but it was rectified.
Comfortable room with a lovely view. Good location. Great nights sleep!

Was charged $16 for one bottle of water. Felt deceived as no clear price and staff didn't make the price clear either. It looks like a free bottle from the stand next to check in. Disappointing. The bottles in the room are $8 each. I could have got two for this price. It's not about the money - it's about feeling deceived.

Great location for manhattan. On Broadway so easy to walk to some of the places or get the tube. Room was as you would expect for a Marriott, lovely large bed and reasonable sized room

Room was quite small, distance between bed and TV stand was like 50cm. Could have been cleaner. Expect lines for elevators
Great location, 10 minutes from Times Square, and close to subway stations. Nice view from top floors.

Toiletries such as hand lotion and shower cap were not provided. Shampoo and body wash, however, were provided in the shower.
Location is excellent. Close to the theatres and subways. Overall quality is as expected of a Marriott property.

At the health club the Peloton bikes were not usable - adjustment mechanisms were broken. Towels and sheets were slightly scratchy to me. (I have very sensitive skin.)
The location is excellent with many destinations within walking and subway distances. Room was a good size and very clean. All of the staff were very helpful and welcoming.

Elevators are very busy, not enough light in the room, they take money for water bottles in the room which is weird for the price we paid. Other then that, all was great

I was charged twice for my stay, probably some mistake but still frustrating. Stiven front desk manager was very kind, but he couldn’t provide any particular explanation. After almost 96 hours I still wait for my money. As I said there is probably some system error, but I would prefer to don’t have that problem. All other things regarding my stay was good. If I will visit again NYC, definitely will choose same hotel.

Elevators were not working properly, long wait to take the elevators. Lobby is a bit small and always crowded. Not a big deal, still enjoyed our stay.
Location is perfect! Excellent service, excellent staff. Will definitely return to this hotel.
