Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe hotel is old and requires renovation (after which the prices will obviously go up). I asked for a quite room and I’m pretty sure we got the noisiest one (a very noisy street, 2nd floor). So in general there was noise from the street, but actually it didn’t bother me much. If you use an earplugs you should be fine with closed window. What I really didn’t like was the cleaning service. They didn’t refill the tea or change used glasses/ cups. There was no cleaning detergents in the room so I’m not sure what was expected from me to do with it. So I used the same cup the whole (4) days washes only with water. The floor was also washed only partially. We had a leak in the bathroom, and even though it got fixed, the dried water spot stayed with us till the end.
The bed and pillows were very comfy, AC was working well, the room was spacious and nice. The valet parking was very convenient as well. The hotel offers beach towels and everything you may need for the beach. The options of self service laundry was also very good. The hotel gives as much as possible considering the old building. In general it was a very pleasant stay

United KingdomNothing, we really enjoyed our stay here!
The hotel is located next to the canal, where the two rooms we booked both faced towards the mountains, providing a great view every morning. It was quiet during the night too, despite being on the 2nd floor. The staff were really friendly, and the facilities were great for a 3-night stay! The restaurants and ABC stores were only 5 mins away.

We're not really beach people, so we we'rent that close to the beach. But, there were so many places to eat and try a diversity of foods, which was awesome and all walking distance.

United StatesThe charge for valet was incorrect (overcharge), but they fixed it immediately at checkout. Nothing major, but make sure you monitor your bill at checkout if you use valet.
First, the location is amazing! It's within a short walk from Waikiki Beach and all of the restrautants/shops, but it's a little off the beaten path so that it's quiet. The staff was great - super friendly and easy to talk to! We rented a car for the first several days of our stay and used the valet service - it was very convenient. Also, they let you use complimentary beach towels, boogie boards, chairs and umbrellas (first come, first serve) which is super convenient. They also have "hurricane popcorn" mix in the afternoons that my kids loved as well as water refill station, so that you can fill your reusuable water containers. The room was not large, but it was clean and had an amazing view of the canal/mountain. We also took advantage of the mini fridge for some small groceries to offset the cost of expensive meals out... Target is within walking distance and has reasonable grocery prices comparatively, although we also drove to Walmart/Sams which is about 5 min away for even better prices. In fact, we had to switch hotels near the end of our vacation for my husband's conference (Ala Moana) and we all wished that we could go back to the Coconut Waikiki. Love this place and will definitely stay there again if we visit Hawaii again.

United StatesAs someone who has visited Hawaii multiple times, I’ve had the chance to experience various hotels in the Waikiki area. It's important to keep in mind that Waikiki is a vibrant city bustling with tourists, which naturally comes with some noise from police and ambulance sirens. While I understand that some guests may find this bothersome, I don’t think it’s a fair reason to rate a hotel poorly. I encourage potential visitors to consider this context when deciding on their stay. Regarding the amenities, the establishment offers a washer and dryer at a rate of $2.50 per load, with cash needed for payment, though they provide coin change for convenience. The valet parking service is priced at 40USD plus taxes per night, which I found quite advantageous considering the high costs of self-parking options in Waikiki. Additionally, guests can borrow beach towels and benefit from various discounts in collaboration with a local museum and a yoga class. Complimentary purified water is available, so it’s a good idea to bring along your Hydroflask. Coffee, tea, and hurricane popcorn are also provided for guests to enjoy. Regarding the room: Waikiki is known for its compact size, and many hotel accommodations reflect that. However, I found that COCONUT effectively utilizes the space in their rooms. They provide a microwave, a small fridge, cups, and even a couple of dishes for convenience. Additionally, guests can benefit from an iron and ironing board, extra pillows, and a modest amenity kit in the bathroom, which includes shampoo and conditioner. I had a minor concern regarding the bathroom floor, which felt quite slippery. To enhance safety, I placed a towel down for convenience. I apologize for not mentioning this to the reception during my stay. The views from my room were quite lovely, as I was able to enjoy the canal and the mountains.
