How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location is prime - right on the beach with great access. The apartment was well equipped, had many amenities like parking, pool, washer/drier etc. The apartment was nice, cozy and clean, however, there are some points to consider - I will list them below.
1. Access is weird - you pick up a key ~1.5 miles away from the property, use it to access the building, then use 10(!?!?!) digit code to enter the apartment (lock is kind confusing too btw) to pick up another set of keys. Pool? Beach? Bathroom? Garage? Everything requires 1 set of keys to enter and exit, so you can imagine how "nice it is" to have 4 people stay and always needing a key master to access anything. Remembering and typing up a 10 digit code every time to lock/unlock the apartment is a great touch, with no garage door opened on premise as a cherry on top of this nonsense. You exit the vehicle, enter the garage through a door using a key, then open the garage door for your car every time you enter (in reverse to exit). Btw, the exit door stopped working when we were checking out. 2. The building is amazing with the amenities, however, it needs some serious updates - rusty doors, leaky places, peeling paint, etc. The lot outside says tow away zone, but support told me to park there. I wasn't sure how safe that was due signing and lack of parking instructions, so I chose the garage. Also, the lot has poor drainage, so most spots were under 3-4 inches of water from the rain, so we couldn't use those anyways. 3. While mostly clean and sanitized - there were areas needing improvement - like a couple surfaces with sand, hair in one of the bathrooms or not all dishes properly washed. I am a clean freak though, so for some this might be acceptable.

Keys to enter the building lobby was not there per instructions. We were waiting outside in the cold spending close to an hour with the host's customer service. They blamed it on the earlier customer that they did not leave the key in the same location (which was not the case). They tried to contact local manager but did not provide any resolution. We started calling other hotels in the area to find a place to stay for the night. Luckily, one person let us in while leaving the building (at 10 pm!) . We then used the door access code to enter the apartment. Many other customers have reported this building access key issue. Speaking to the cleaning crew confirmed this. So, be prepared to wait outside (for hours) praying for some one to enter or leave the building to let you in. On top of this, the next morning, customer service sent messages to me with vague instructions to find another key to leave it in the usual secret place for the next guest, which I declined to do (I did not have a clue with the cryptic information). Also, the master bed mattress was sagging so much to point that I got the back pain and could not sleep. This was reported by other customers as well (from the reviews) but the host does not seem to care. When reported, the customer service does not seem to be concerned too much about these issues.

Verified reviewNice condo right next to the beach. Fully equipped kitchen. Everything in the condo was in great condition, even though the outside of the building looks a little dated.
No one available when I tried to get into the building via the code box, and had to rely on friendly neighbors to enter the building.

Verified reviewGreat location with easy beach access was the best part of this rental. We were even able to see a rocket launch. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance. Having the washer and dryer was a bonus.
There was construction happening at the condo building, which was a surprise to us and not disclosed ahead of time. It was extremely loud and disruptive while it was happening, across multiple days.
