Location was beautiful. I wish I could’ve got down to the water though. It was kind of trippy when I was in the pool and there were people eating dinner all dressed up but still very nice.

The internet was horrible, the toilet Was wobbly, the parking spaces so narrow and very limited spaces, no coffee maker or microwave in our rooms. very expensive for 2 stay.

Realized after 2 days that the door didn't lock from the outside!!! When I reported it to front desk staff he said, 'Oh yes, you have to lift up on the handle a bit when you leave. They should have a sign to let people know. We left the room multiple times thinking our things were safely locked inside when they weren't :(.

An older style Inn, which could be a vintage classic! This fabulous place deserves some tender loving care. The rooms are clean and functional, but really do need renovating, especially the bathrooms. We hope the owners start an improvement programme soon, as this place could be a piece of fabulous social beach history as well as a lovely place to stay!

Fabulous setting - an opportunity to watch the dolphins! Set right on the beach - wonderful to hear the constant crash of the waves (the 101 is behind the Inn, and while other reviewers have commented on the road noise, we could only hear the joyful crash of the ocean)! A warm welcome on arrival and courteous staff throughout our stay. An ample breakfast - cereal, fruit, toast, bagels. mufffins, coffee / tea. The location requires a driver - on its own between Santa Barbara and Ventura. Carpinteria is only a 5 minute drive for local facilities. The gem in the crown of this Inn?.......the restaurant!! Many reviews have commented on the quality - it genuinely deserves the accolades. Wonderful seafood - cooked to perfection. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate us. We would highly recommend - book early as it is popular with guest and locals!

The building is in the older side and is in need of a remodel, but the location and views from every room more than make up for it. This was our second time staying at Cliff House Inn. The room we were in this time was much louder. It sounded like someone was constantly moving furniture in the room above ours. Next time we’ll request a room on the top floor.

Access from the freeway from only one direction.

The breakfast was good, the view was excellent, the location was good however, the restaurant was closed for the evening ( that is one of the reasons we booked) and the closest restaurants were up or down the freeway a few miles.

No coffee maker in room. Breakfast should start earlier. Coffee and tea should be available at all time. Watering the grounds in the morning so it was all wet every where. No protein at breakfast just lots of carbs. Conditioner for the tub should be at hand reach when taking a bath. Just lots of inconvenience when the rooms are pretty pricey. We stay at lots of different hotels not sure we will come back. Went to check out no one was at the front desk. Wish we had a better experience but it didn’t happen.

It’s a little thing, but the smell of cleaner was very strong in my room and remained that way. I kept the windows open and that helped.

The view is the best part. I liked the chairs outside facing the ocean, and the fact that you lit up the waves at night. The front desk person was kind and helpful.

- The hotel/rooms requires renovations. Although place is great, but rooms floor/walls feels like about to fall. - the breakfast is one of bad types. Why do not add some home cooked staff: waffles or even waffles machine, omelet...
