How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewLoved that the location was just off the highway and only one exit away from Kings Island and the Cincinnati Open tennis courts. There were plenty of options for dining within walking distance or a short drive away. The cleaning staff did a great job and both check in and check out went smoothly. Laundry machines and the ice machine were working and readily available anytime. Overall a pleasant stay with the location and price being the main draws.
There was no breakfast. The pool looked a little rough. A lot of dogs. It didn’t bother us but if you have allergies, probably not the best place for you. There were all sorts of people staying, some pretty sketchy looking people staying long term. You could occasionally hear yelling and screaming from the hallways or see them hanging out the windows smoking.

It had a horrible smell in the hallways and in the room. The floors were scratched and there were chunks taken out of the main door as if an animal was trying to get out. Same with the bathroom door.

First floor smelled very bad, especially in the side entrance walking in from back of building and halls. Burn marks in the blankets, as well as a golden yellow stain on the sheet. The shower barely drained.

Verified reviewStaff, location, area. I like that pets stay free. I like the pricing here for the value. The rooms, even the ones that arent as nice, are better than majority of red roofs i've stayed at. Pretty good rating for a red roof, too.
Been coming here off and on for 3 months. Entire time, they STILL give out lids too small for their disposable coffee cups. Why? they're unusable. It's ridiuclous. Rooms dedicated for pet owners are much less clean than the ones they keep for people without pets. Makes sense to a degree. But my pet isn't a mess maker and I dislike being sidelined in the worst rooms.

The facilities were run down, smelly, lots of shady people every time we went out, limited morning coffee. We had asked for a rollaway bed and extra towels and the staff never addressed the request. A dirty bucket of mop water sat outside our room all weekend. The doors were not secure - people off the street could walk in without a key.
