How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Verified reviewClean and cozy home, plenty space for our family of 5. You have a full and half bath, with plenty of towels. Close enough to walk to the beach and pleasure pair for entertainment. The host was amazing, very informative, and very quick with answering questions.
I did not have anything I did not like about this stay.

Verified reviewThe property was in a great location. The property was a perfect fit for my family of four, so comfortable felt like we were at home. The property owner was already in conversation with us on events happening around the area and updates on the weather. Would definitely try to stay at this location next time my family and I are back in Galveston.

The house was great, location is perfect, Sean goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. This place deserves more than a 10 star rating.

Verified reviewHost very responsive to requests. Really nice place, close to the pier/seafront. Easy parking. Two lovely balconies to catch the (Autumn) sun. Good cooking facilities. Big TV. Big rooms. When we sent a message about a shortage of cooking knives (we were cooking our meals) the host had a brand new knife block delivered to us within half an hour - amazing!
Sheets were poor quality. Only one side-lamp in the whole house. It would have been better with side-lamps in the lounge to avoid having to use the stark central lights. And also we would have liked two bedside tables/lamps which to make reading at night/drinking tea in the morning easy. I would have thought this was rather obvious! (?? ) But these are just "constructive comments"! Overall the place was excellent and we had a good stay.

Verified reviewThe rental house was incredibly cozy, and I felt right at home. It was spotless, with a delightful scent and thoughtful touches like chocolate. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need. Best of all, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, with plenty of activities nearby. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Verified reviewEverything you need for a great vacation is nearby, like the beach, games, and restaurants. The wine was an amazing and unexpected gift. My kids loved the chocolates.
The owner can't really do anything about the noise since it's coming from the bar next door. You can hear people coming and going all night, and there's always loud music. I'd be worried about my kids' safety if I was the only adult watching them. The door was already open when we got there, which was confusing. The toilet upstairs didn't have any water, but that was my fault for not reading the instructions on how to turn on the water valves. The AC was also a pain to figure out since I don't have the same type of thermostat at home. I had some problems using the app directions, so I suggest typing the address on Google maps directly.

Yes beach, Pleasure Pier, & restaurants are just a walking distance & many families love that aspect of house location. Yes the house has smart locks, Google Nest smart AC thermostats We do send video informational instruction in messages before arrival. it is expected that guests read those messages & learn from video how to operate them. House also has additional windows AC units for added guests comfort Being at the central location in Galveston, there is a lot goes on, specially , on weekends. Many bikers in town, heavy traffic from vacationers, long lines on restaurant & pleasure pier. all part of being on a great location which is close to everything & correction Bar is not next door. it is across the street on the other side.
