Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe kitchen/living room is shared space. There was a group dinner one night, so I just stayed in the room and worked on my computer. I only used the kitchen fridge to store perishables. Otherwise I didn’t hangout in the common space except to drink coffee in the morning.
I chose the Master bedroom with ensuite so did not have to share a bathroom, which was nice. The king bed was firm but comfortable. The TV has Roku so you can stream from your device, but I didn’t use it. Having a small side chair gave me an alternative to sitting on the bed. If your plan is to hike Joshua Tree NP all day and just sleep and bathe, the set up is just right.

IrelandThe mattress was not very comfortable. Slightly overpriced, in my opinion...
The location is very good, very close to the national park 's entrance. The hotel has a fully operational kitchen which one can use to prepare your own food. Friendly owner.

United StatesNot a reflection on the property itself but just so you know; I traveled to JT last minute with my mother and felt fortunate to get a reasonably priced room at Casa de Frank. We've never stayed anywhere with a shared bathroom so that was a bit of a unique experience. The bathroom door is a bit finicky and a man walked in on my mother. The house is clean, but some of the other guests (everyone was nice) didn't seem to like to do their own dishes even though you are asked to clean up after yourself. This property is ideal for single men or if you're comfortable in a hostel or dorm housing.
The location is excellent. Very walkable to the Village where there are a number of eateries and some shops. Roy was as nice as can be and a wonderful property manager.

United StatesWe didn’t know the bathroom would be shared, nor that a dog would greet us. The toilet is very loud when the tank is filling, and it was on the other side of one of our bedroom walls

AustraliaThe immediate area is a bit sketchy looking, the backyard was sorta under construction but it didn't look like anything was happening just a bunch of labourers mess. I was looking forward to spending some time relaxing out there in the jacuzzi in private, but there was not even a fence on one side and so I wasn't that keen to do so.
A laid back vibe in an arty cool air bnb style house. Great host in Roy and no set times to have to work with made it a relaxing visit. Locally there is the JT saloon bar which is warm and inviting.

IndiaThe location is great, just 10 mins drive from Joshua tree entrance. We stayed in the master bedroom which had ensuite bathroom, everything was neat & clean. To avoid a misconception, the kitchen & dining area are shared, which is not very clear from booking.com listing. The kitchen is very well equipped. The staff is friendly. We had an interesting discussion with Roy. Loved it overall.

United StatesMinor issues mostly. The front door is a little warped so I wasn’t sure if I got it closed properly. The next door neighbor has a motion activated security light that woke me up. So I would recommend a more opaque curtain in the Private Room where I stayed. There is also a mysterious lack of spoons in the kitchen. I couldn’t figure out how to open the dishwasher and it seems to be loose under the counter, so I wasn’t able to look for spoons there.
I enjoyed this intimate little lodge in the heart of the town of Joshua tree. Walking distance to everything in town and a short drive to the main entrance to the national park and other area attractions. The manager Roy greeted me like an old friend and made me feel welcome.

PolandThe mattress was quite hard and slightly not comfy. Bed sheets were dirty, I hope they change it.
Definitely price is adequate to what Casa De Frank offers. The room is just a bed with a TV, desk and wardrobe. Perfect for one night.

AustraliaI’m a dog lover but I don’t necessarily want them in my accomodation. Dog hair all over the couch made me not want to sit there. Our room was small.

SlovakiaThere was no "sufficient" mechanical lock on the door from the inside, but we had ours so it was not a problem. Other little minus is that the door is not that thick and soundproof so we could hear everything from the other rooms.
The accomodation fairly fits the price. At first we could not open the front door but we quickly got in as it was opened a little byt by other people (owners?) which we also met in the living room. We had a separate room to ourselves with a huge bed and a private bathroom. We only stayed for a night and for a night it is a great place to stay!
