The parking is questionable on the ocean side of Hwy 12. Would have been nice to have a laundry room. Sign was up for fish cleaning station but there wasn't one.

When you book oceanfront that is exactly what you get! The room was pleasant. The staff was friendly.

It’s very weather beaten and needs repair. Our floor was actually sinking in on one side of the bed.

Location was pretty amazing! The water comes under the motel! Obviously that could also be concerning and unfortunately I don’t see the motel being there in a couple of years. Erosion will take it.

The room we stayed in was a double queen bed oceanfront with a small fridge and microwave. We had downsized from our original room; a 2 bedroom suite (queen bed and queen and full in 2nd room), with full kitchen, 2 bathrooms. Two people who were coming with us had to cancel. We thought we’d save a pretty good amount of money but we actually only saved $100. That was disappointing and after getting the room we had regretted downsizing. BUT in the end our stay was good and although the room could have used several updates to the interior and also the WiFi situation, we knew what to expect because I had read the reviews. My entire reason for staying there was the location and that was absolutely 5 stars in my opinion. Along with Jamie at the front desk it was very comfortable. I would stay again!

The location of the property is by far the best thing about this motel! It is so convenient to walk out your door and take a few steps down right to the shore of the ocean! The views were unlike any I’ve ever seen. Absolutely breathtaking! Before reserving at this property I did my research and read every review so I knew what to expect. The staff, well Jamie since she’s the only one I met, was fantastic! She definitely needs to have more staff to assist with little tasks. She made our stay so relaxed and we felt very welcome.

Location is more than perfect! Private, cozy, steps from the Ocean. You can walk the beach to the former location of the Cape Hatteras lighthouse. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Staff is great!

There were a few things that could have been cleaner but that could just be me.

The location and the quiet are 2 of my favorite things about this Motel. I actually booked a King room but because their system overbooked I got upgraded to a suite with full kitchen and living room. That was an excellent added bonus

The room could’ve been Cleaner. The air vents have years of dust and lint on them. Bathrooms need to be updated. One staircase is completely broken and it needs to be repaired. A ramp would be highly suggested at least for the first floor. Picnic tables need to be painted and you definitely need a bigger icemaker!! staff are very overworked, but are very very nice and professional

The view to relax Jamie, who works in the office was excellent. After I fell. She helped me she carried all my luggage down the stairs. I had to go down the stairs on my bottom of 32 of them.

The property is amazing and I’d stay here again. There’s just little upgrades that could be done. For the price of this room I’d expect the mini blinds not to be broken or the light above the sink not to be all rusted. But again these things would not impact my choice to enjoy the motel again. So book it!

The property is beautiful. Sits right on the ocean. You can end your evening in the 2 rocking chairs provided outside your room. You can also enjoy the sunrise directly on the beach. The beds were very comfortable and Jamie who checked me in was very friendly.

We weren't told that the pool and hot tub weren't working. We found out after we checked in. My grandchildren loved the pool and hot tub the last time we came and were looking forward to it again. They were very disappointed.

We loved Jamie, the gal working in our building. She is top notch. She was available to us no matter what we needed. Such a kind, helpful person.

The motel is probably 50 years or more. The floor is new but bathroom has not been updated in a while. Tub, sink, bedding, towels were all clean and fine. But the room itself needed some attention. We were fine with this, just a mention for those who wouldn't be.

First -Jamie, the manager, was wonderful. She was friendly, very accommodating, knowledgeable about where to go, made sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. The building is literally right on the beach! All rooms face the beach. Nothing but you and sand, water, wildlife. Sound of the waves lulling you to sleep. Room came with Keurig, microwave, mini fridge, safe. Floor was LPV. Be sure there's a broom/dustpan because sand will be tracked in. Lots of restaurants, shops, places to walk and bike, things to do with the kids nearby. Great grocery. The area is surrounded by the National Park areas, i.e. protected land, including the lighthouse. We don't fish, but one could certainly fish right in front of the motel or many spots close by. Be sure to check the tide schedule, it will matter. High tide means surf at the steps. But there's plenty of beach a short walk north. We're already planning our stay at the motel in the fall.

#1 The main reason I didnt rate this hotel higher is the Wifi. Dont stay here if youre serious about using Wifi. Even though we were clearly close to the Wifi source because it was a 5/5 connection, it would CONSTANTLY go in and out during the day. Something you would expect from some dumpy motel. #2 The TV. I rarely watch it but when I wanted to watch a show on a basic hotel channel, it didnt work at all #3 Housekeeping never came to clean the room once in 3 days (which would be automatic at other hotels). Which is fine with me because I dont really need anything cleaned until Day 4-5 and sometimes have to leave "Do Not Disturb" sign on hotel doors to stop them. But that sign in the room about tipping housekeeping is a JOKE when you never come for that long!

#1 the location. If you pick the rooms with oceanfront view, your room is literally ON the beach (which Ive never experienced in an ocean hotel before). It was also nice being so close to the ocean because loud waves = not being to hear the people next to us sitting on the porch at 1 AM one night and chatting like they were at the local bar. Which wouldve definitely not happened at a regular hotel #2 the heat, AC, and bathroom entities were better than expected
