Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was nothing that we didn’t like. The property owner definitely pays attention to details and adds a luxury flare! The robes were perfect! The bathroom towels are very large and plush which we loved, but too large for wrapping wet hair after shower! For women, another little extra touch might include a turby twist hair wrap. Another small thing we noticed was the bright display on the AC units. A soft eye mask for sleeping would have been amazing! This property was perfect for our 26th wedding anniversary and we have already shared our wonderful experience with friends who like to travel. Well done Camp Elena!
It was nice how they paid attention to details. The telescope, the fire pit, earplugs, differing types of hand soap, and cleanser, various areas where guest could gather.

United StatesWish we would have used the grill or fire pit provided but due to the wind (nothing Camp Elena could control) we were unable to.
We loved everything about Camp Elena, very beautiful place. The bed was very comfortable, had all the necessities to cook meals, the toiletries were great quality. We would definitely stay here again, the location was perfect. Close to BBNP entrance, Terelingua is definitely a ghost town! But with all the necessities just a short drive. Very remote, you will travel a dirt road to get to camp Elena but do not require high clearance vehicle but definitely a bit bumpy. Keep in mind this is a tent, so we heard the wind, but not a deal breaker. Camp Elena provides ear plugs but we didn’t need them. Camp Elena has nice touches like robes, book with recommendations & instructions, welcoming with some treats. There is a heater provided, we stayed in May, not needed. Has A\C unit, keeps it cool enough, using this, ceiling fan and small portable fan. Overall, a great retreat after long hot days of hiking… wish we stayed longer.

SwedenWorth to keep in mind that though it looks close to Terlingua on the map, it's around a 15-minute dirt road drive in reality. So expect like a 30 minutes round trip if you go in for breakfast or supplies. Also, don't underestimate the force of the night winds in the desert; the tents almost seem to amplify them to a point where it can sound like a storm is going on outside. Still, this is part of the glamping arrangement in my opinion and earplugs work well.
As glamping go, this was 10/10. Great facility, well-equipped, modern and clean, while still feeling a lot like a large tent. Comes with excellent coffee beans and grinder, and both drip and french press to suit your tastes. Great views, and comfortable bed.

United StatesThe location was perfect, the tent was beautiful, comfortable and well designed. Even though it got very cold in the 30s two nights we were comfortable with the gas heater on and the heated blankets were a nice touch that certainly helped. If you’re hoping to see a lot of stars, try to align your trip with a smaller moon. We learned this the hard way, we had a waxing gibbous and it was so bright that we didn’t see a ton of stars. You can also wake up and try to stargaze once the moon sets but we were too tired after hiking for that!

United StatesThe long drive to get in was rough and would not want to do it without 4 wheel drive but we had 4 wheel drive so that was OK.
It was so unique. Wonderful bath towels. Bath robes. Snacks waiting. The bathroom was great with great lighting. Main room was very comfortable.

Wonderful to sit on our balcony with breakfast watching the sun rise over the silent desert. The private cabin had everything for a perfect stay - even fresh coffee and olive oil in the kitchen. We would definitely stay again.

United StatesThere's nothing to dislike! I can't think of anything that would have made our stay better.
Amazing Texas desert aesthetic tent with a beautiful tiny kitchen and bathroom. Perfect for our one night getaway to Big Bend National Park. We ate dinner outside before sunset and enjoyed the stars for hours after dark. The dark skies were incredible. There's a fire pit but we didn't use it due to the heat. Otherwise, that would have been a big bonus. The bed was ridiculously comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. The bathroom was immaculate and well stocked with sundries and robes. The kitchen had everything we needed to prep dinner and snacks. I really appreciated the coffee with the choice of French press or pour over. Even though it was August, the small air conditioner and fan kept us cool enough until the sun went down. Unzip the side panel for a beautiful sunrise view! Very close to the historic cemetery and Starlight Theater.

United StatesThe road to get there was a little hairy. An SUV or 4- wheel drive is needed. The grill blew over in the wind and spilled propane all over the deck. A lamp would be useful in the sitting area.
