Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe had a room that had had an animal in it prior to us and both my husband and I are allergic. When I told the manager she did not seem to care. Those rooms need to be segregated. Also there was mold in the bathroom shower. The blinds in our room were missing slots so it was not fully private. I mentioned it to the manager.
The facility and grounds are beautiful.

United StatesLittle misleading to call it a restaurant when it only serves food for an hour a day at breakfast. For a wedding venue, 8-9 AM for breakfast feels a little ridiculous and like they are counting on people not taking advantage of it to save money. Since the hours were so limited, the place was packed and there was barely anywhere to sit. For the price, I expected the room to be in better shape. Clearly needed some TLC. Furniture looked like it was bought at a garage sale. Kitchen sink shot water in every direction, bathroom fan did not work, small stuff, but also small fixes.
Great location, grounds were gorgeous and well maintained, staff was pleasant, for the most part, and the breakfast was decent.

United StatesRoom was spacious, bathroom tight. Grounds are beautiful. Electric needs updating..heated up phone & laptop. Noisy guest above us until 1 am. Breakfast was so little we had to go eat back in our room after breakfast. Seemed like one egg, 4 slices potatoes and 2 bacon strips. While beautiful outside-we would not recommend this bed & breakfast

United StatesBreakfast was average. There was a wedding the night we stayed. Lots of noise. Room definitely not sound proof. We have stayed at many B&Bs before. This one seemed very impersonal. Little to no interaction with staff. The property is very old & well kept, beautiful building. Nice for a wedding venue , not great being a guest there while a wedding is happening.

United StatesThe room size. It should be noted that it is a building built in 1800, so the room size really wasn’t an issue, just something we didn’t realize before hand
Really liked the historical aspect of the house. The staff was super friendly and nice!

United StatesOur bathroom was very small. I had to watch my head when I sat down on the toilet so I didn't bang it into the sink. My pillow case was dirty, yuck. And, someone kept banging their door every time they went in and out of their room into the early hours of the morning. There were two weddings so I'm assuming someone was having a little too much fun.
The buildings and grounds were gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious.

United StatesSo I stayed in the family suite which was located in the basement, which I have to say was not clean at all. I had to make a call that they need to clean under the bed because they were rappers from the previous people that stayed in the freezer had leftover food. It was full of cobwebs and they do not change the trash daily but again that was in the family room located in the basement the other rooms that were in the main house when I went and looked to be very clean and they’re just beautiful the decor.
The hotel itself is very beautiful very old Victorian style. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The staff is very very pleasant.

United StatesBathroom was tiny and sink obstructed the use of toilet. It was a little loud at night since the inn is really more of a wedding venue catering to wedding parties.
Grounds were beautiful. Very historic and quaint Breakfast was good and cooked to order.

United StatesWe needed help getting the gas fp started and then it set off the smoke alarm so we weren’t able to enjoy that feature. It didn’t dampen our stay but it took a bit if shine away from the experience.
The historic home and the surrounding gardens were a delight to explore. Breakfast was delicious and they provided gf options. We were able to explore two of the venue’s wedding rooms and they were quite remarkable.

United StatesBreakfast should be home cooked by the owner with good conversation from the owner. The room was cold and we could hear the guests from the next door room. The sink was sluggish and did not drain properly.
The breakfast was not what we expected. It was not home cooked by the owner. It was an institutional type breakfast. We chose our breakfast from a predetermined menu.

United StatesFloor, table, desk, and windowsill had multiple dead stinkbugs (at least 20 counted on windowsill alone), dead stinkbug smashed on the wall. No guest toiletries (even just basic soap for the bathroom). Fireplace did not work. Several furniture pieces were very loose or damaged enough that were easily noticeable. Peeling paint and black marks all around the shower walls. It would have been nice to know this room was an addition, not a main part of the original house, as we could have booked a modern day room anywhere. The website and pictures did not identify this. We wanted the older home bed and breakfast experience. It would have also been nice to know that a wedding was going on. We felt we couldn't walk the grounds because we would disturb the bride/groom photo sessions on the geounds and guests walking outside everywhere. This caused a parking issue on check-in as well. Overall, the experiential bummers just kept piling on, and we didn't want to even go to the offered breakfast and just checked out first thing in the morning. I do not usually give such a poor review , but this was not a place I would recommend. I would hope at least the original home interior is better cared for than our room was.
Very nice property and location. Secluded and beautiful grounds.

United StatesProperty smelled strongly like manure and it was overwhelming, I felt sorry for the wedding guests. The shower was disaster made of plastic and very small. Flying black bugs everywhere probably due to the creek outside. Bad outdated furniture and bad lighting. The towels were black and so thread bare, they shed black lint on your body and did not absorb well at all. This was not the main inn but instead a building around the back, I did not realize it was not in the main inn when I booked it on booking.com, I booked the last room (there was a wedding). Seems like it wasn't ready for guests and shouldn't have been. Total ripoff. Non-working fireplace, small joke of a tv. I was there for a Stevie Nicks concert at Hershey stadium (which was cancelled last minute) wanted to leave but there was nothing available for miles so had to stay the two nights. I hated everything about this place. No staff on site, found our room info in an envelope taped to the glass window of the office, found our key on the wall in the room, no front desk or staff just a closed office the whole weekend. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Very disappointing. It looked so nice in the photos. I have PTSD from my stay. They should refund my money.
I was not in the main inn to my dismay but in the back building. There were flying bugs everywhere probably due to the creek. I have photos. There was no one in the office the whole time I was there. We were 25 minutes late due to a storm and heavy traffic. They cancelled our dinner reservation. The only helpful person was the waitress who brought us crab cakes to our room (at a cost of $82!!!). They were appetizer size and very overpriced! There were no vacancies and so we’re stuck there. There was no rug in the picture, no private balcony (just a deck walkway, no river (small buggy creek) like the description says). The room seems like it was not supposed to be for guests but maybe for staff. There was a piece of flooring missing, bad lighting, no rug like in the picture, poor lighting, no towel rack in the powder room only a hole in the wall and whole room needs a paint job and a remodel. The shower was a complete disaster. The shower head was directed right in your face and it was so small and ugly, it was a joke. I away very disappointed. I am requesting a full refund! Oh and the free breakfast was horrible. Bad French toast and dried out scrambled eggs. I didn’t even eat it. Shame on you.
