How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel is located right at the entrance to Lake Placid Village, just 8 minutes from Mirror Lake and the Main street. The mountain views are breathtaking, and there is also access to the water.

The bathroom sink fixture wobbled, needs to be anchored to the cabinet/counter.

Just minor things- we were there for the Ironman event, it was by chance I found out there was a shuttle that ran back and forth- would of been nice if it was advertised or mentioned to all the participants or spectators- more might of taken advantage of it. I only overheard the hostess from breakfast talk about it. It was a very nice service. The driver(which I’m guessing was probably his first actual job and obviously not happy to be there) had no ambition nor social skills whatsoever, but he did drive us back n forth. Also we are at the breakfast buffet, 1st day the staff was amazing! On Sunday morning total opposite. Which was surprising because that’s the morning all the spectators are there and they would like to eat and go. We had to finally ask for our check and then it had to go to 2other people before we could pay to get going. Just need a bit better organization and knowledge of what’s going on. But those are just customer service tidbits. Overall beautiful hotel.
Beautiful new hotel, rooms were clean, beds were exceptionally comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning, had a fitness room and coffee in the lobby ! The young woman who works the overnight shift at the front was very nice.

The expensive in hotel restaurant.
The bathroom, the lights under the bed, over the bed, great decor. I felt like a celebrity. All conditions were great.

I cannot think of anything!
It is a fairly new hotel therefore it was clean and modern. Close to the lake with complementary use of paddle boat/canoe which was really nice. We enjoyed the outside seating. I really liked that you could refill your waterbottle at the gym, great feature to not use the plastic bottles. The restaurant was great at the hotel, everyone was super nice and the food was good, although a bit pricey. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Very modern hotel with lots of amenities. Very clean facilities inside and out. Having free use of kayaks, pedal boats makes for an awesome activity to do without having to spend more money on a rental elsewhere.

Constructive feedback: when we checked in Saturday night, the Desk Person never mentioned the shuttle availability. We actually found out the next morning as we were exiting to get into our car to search for parking downtown, and the shuttle happened to be right outside.
great complex, lakeside area was a nice surprise. We were in town for our son's participation in the IronMan, and the van service was a GREAT unexpected surprise. The only downside to the restaurant was they did not have sugar-free maple syrup for my diabetic grandson. So I dosed him more, but it would have been nice to have the other option.
The location was very good even though it wasn't within walking distance from town unless you're an avid walker. The on-sight restaurant was very good with excellent attention from the wait staff. The rooms were so large and very clean! The bathrooms are very nice with large showers with a great shower head! I just loved this hotel!

The HVAC component did not go below 68 degrees and every few hours it would increase to 71 degrees and I would need to turn the thermostat down. Because of my breathing challenges, I do best 62 to 65 degrees. The TV was annoying to operate as there was a 3 second delay from pushing the button for the TV to do what you wanted. The title of "Lakeside Resort" was confusing as I thought I'd be on Mirror Lake or East Lake, etc but was on a Paradox Pond which could not be swam in due to snapping turtles.
Breakfast buffet was well worth the $20 per person with the variety of items and number of times you could visit it. Fresh fruit was in season and delicious. Omelets were made in front of you with a variety of options. Very convenient to numerous locations in the Lake Placid area.

Didn't know about the outside accommodations and what we were allowed to do/not do, descriptions of views were unclear and how close to lake/water we actually were or weren't.
Location was convenient to the downtown and surrounding attractions mostly bc we had a car to access things, although there was a shuttle in town, we didn't access it bc of kids/seniors we were travelling with. Pool at hotel, access to restaurant, bar, outdoor seating, fire pits, the new/modern look and feel of the hotel. Local restaurants nearby were easy to access- we could have walked! Would like to visit again when it's warmer!
