Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was scaffolding outside the hotel. Doormen not available when we arrived so had to organise bringing our own luggage from the street.
Great location and views of Bryant Park. Easy access to our room. Didn’t have to wait long for the lift during our 11 day stay.

United StatesThis is not a luxury hotel by any means. It's basic but fine for a work trip. Since I had a corner room with large windows, I expected there to be some sort of street view, based on the photos. Not the case. The gym is small and basic but did the trick. I had drinks with my friends in the lounge and the bartender offered us free beer. We happily accepted but when we took a sip, it tasted like straight up water! We looked at the date and they were expired. We were wondering if we were drugged. Thankfully we were all fine but it was just weird.
The curly blond lady at check in was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I think that's the most important aspect of a hotel room. The lobby lounge is pretty nice.

United KingdomUnfortunately my room had scaffolding outside it (and workmen!) which meant that I had to keep 2 of my 3 windows mostly covered up and the workman were pretty noisy a couple of days in a row. Not a deal breaker but I don’t think this was acceptable for the price of the room. I nearly gave this property a 7/10 because of this, but that didn’t feel fair - but it did impact my personal stay. Hopefully the outside renovation will be completed soon. Although the rooms have clearly been renovated, the foyer and lifts have not and this feels out of place. The lack of room service was disappointing but I knew about it before, but there would have been times I would have used it. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room would be great. Nowhere to sit downstairs (e.g. no real lobby) was also a strange set-up and meant that you either worked in your room, or outside the hotel. Just something to consider.
Great location and I chose this hotel because I wanted a nice bright, airy room overlooking the park (most hotels in NYC are small and dark). My room was gorgeous with dual aspect windows overlooking Bryant Park and a lovely large bathroom. The room felt modern and the place was kept impeccably clean. The coffee and water downstairs was a much needed touch. My higher rating (8/10) is based solely on the room’s aspect and the fact that it felt spacious and bright… not really on the hotel or its facilities.

United StatesThere wasn’t really some comfortable space to sit down and have your morning coffee and muffin so you had to bring it back to your room.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location right on Bryant Park slap-bang in Midtown Manhattan. Staff were super friendly, room was spacious and very comfortable. For anyone interest in architecture it is also inside the historic American Radiator Building skyscraper which is a very cool bonus. Perfect stay.

South KoreaI once stuck at the elevator at near the wall for a couple of minutes, but glad that I could get out of there without any harm. fridge full of mini bar items, but it would have been nicer that I could store my own thing there. Just no space for that.

Our stay was fabulous. The front desk staff was warm and friendly, answered our questions expertly and efficiently, and even upgraded our room at no extra cost (thank you!). We were given a room directly across from the fitness center, but we didn't hear a thing from the gym, and since we weren't on the street side, the room was very quiet. It was also huge, beautifully decorated, and very well-appointed, with lovely toiletries, a comfy bed, and great lighting. The location was perfect--we could easily walk to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and a show near Times Square, without being right in the madness of those areas. Bryant Park was fun to explore, and the street the hotel is on has excellent bakeries. I will gladly stay at this hotel again!

New ZealandLack of coffee & tea facilities in each room & no in-room ordering for food & drinks was a minor inconvenience when one of us was not feeling well one evening. Readily fixed by ordering from one of multiple restaurants & cafes in same block as hotel.
Excellent location with well sized quiet, comfortable rooms. Having Bryant Park & it's facilities, stalls & programs across the street is a big plus.
