Shirley is one of the most polished and detailed hosts I have ever met. She is friendly, informative, attentive and thorough. Perfect! Her homemade breakfasts were exceptional and her level of customer service is so far above par that it stands alone. She doesn't miss a detail - going so far as to set up your morning coffee pot so that you do nothing more than press the start button.

This is a rather silly complaint, but the coffee was extremely watered down. Probably just the way Shirley prefers it, but it wasn't great haha.

Breakfast was fantastic, and the location could not have been better. Shirley was a superb host, checking in with us before check-in to ensure we arrived safely and efficiently, and providing us with top-notch recommendations for things to do and places to eat, etc. Shirley is a very kind, outgoing, and personable host. If you prefer a more hands-off experience, this might not be the best place. However, if you're okay with a more personable experience, Shirley will make you feel right at home.

The host was extremely helpful, friendly and pleasant. Greeted us when we arrived and took the time to explain everything we needed to know. We had the Sunroom bedroom. She typically does not rent the other bedroom on the same floor, so we had the entire floor to ourselves, which included a living room and a full kitchen. The bedroom wasn't large but the bed was comfortable and we had lots of space in the living area. The place is a little worn, but very comfortable, well maintained and very clean. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning (and I do mean wonderful) which was included in the price. Didn't have to eat lunch that day. Also got a great suggestion for dinner at a local restaurant. We received a lot of care during the stay. A definite place to stay again.

There's nothing I didn't like. I prefer to have a TV in the living room to enjoy while having beverages and snacks but understand why this set up does not accommodate that. It didn't bother me and we worked around it :)

I enjoyed everything and Shirley, the Breyhouse owner and host is like a grandmother I never had. The little things matter (like making sure coffee is ready to be brewed in your pot) and if you like detail, this is the place to be. To some, Shirley may come off as a bit abrupt but she is invested in making the guest stay, an enjoyable one. Therefore, she explains everything in detail, her expectations and what you can expect from her. The lodging was quiet, clean and comfortable. It may be dated but the rest outweighs any decor you may not like. Who really cares about the decor as long as you have a great stay? Also, if she or the booking site states no pets, then don't expect to bring one and for her to make an exception. The requirements for NO pets is pretty clear. Breakfast both days was amazing and if you have some sort of realistic dietary need, then let her know, she will accommodate as much as possible but don't be mean and don't expect a completely separate meal. Breakfast is at 9, no exceptions and no, the rest of the guests are not expected to wait to eat until everyone is seated. If you decide to wait, your breakfast will be cold. If you don't plan on eating, just tell her so there is no waste of food. Listen to and understand Shirley and you'll have a great stay! There is no elevator to the third floor rooms and the lower level rooms are very easy to get your things to from the parking spaces. There is a private bath for each room but the kitchen/common area downstairs is shared by both rooms. I'm not sure about the rooms upstairs. Each bedroom has a TV and there is no TV in the common room downstairs but there is a pool table for entertainment. The bed was very comfy and the pillows weren't flat!!! Thank you Shirley for a great and welcoming stay.
