Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesReally everything was great. If you are looking for a fancy/modern stay this place is probably not for you. It's a quirky, fun eclectic place with a building over 100 years old-so lots of history. Older furnishings but very clean-matttress was very comfortable!
This is the best place to stay overnight if you have events in the Chicago area! Our 2nd time staying here and it doesn't disappoint! You will get alot more room space (more like an apartment) for the same or less than you'd pay for a hotel room. Owner and staff are great! If they are available they will drop you off at your event and the return is easy through uber or the red line. Great restaurant underneath apartment s-very convenient for lunch/dinner-food is top notch! Weekend stays include a free breakfast that is sooo good and made to order. Gospel brunch on Sunday mornings is so cute, easily was $100 value but free for our family of 4 since we stayed overnight there! Will definitely be back!

United StatesYou had to climb narrow steep stairs to your room. And the TV didn't work.
The restaurant and rooms felt historic in a good way with a lot of political memorabilia on the walls. The staff's hospitality and eagerness to accommodate whatever you needed was exceptional. They made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was outstanding! The neighborhood was safe and walkable, filled with beautiful brownstone shops and homes.

United StatesIt’s a walk up. Carrying suitcases up to your room can be challenging or a good work out, depending on each situation.
Property is an old building full of charm located in a historic district. Bed and breakfast, room size, on site dining and parking made it a perfect choice for the occasion. Good customer service.

United StatesThe staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The owner stopped and chatted with us about the history of the property for awhile and also showed us the rest of the facilities. They even had a friendly dog to greet you at the door. It was secured with a lockable gangway and entryway door. Parking is included and an excellent breakfast.

Great personal service and cooked-to-order breakfast by the wonderful proprietors; very spacious and comfortable rooms (I has a two room suite). Although the McCormick Place Convention Centre where I was attending a conference is 4 miles away, they happily dropped me to the door each morning. Amazing - thanks!

United StatesThe decor in the suite could be updated.
It was a unique experience! I have family members who live around the corner, so the location was extremely convenient for us. The suites are like apartments. The decor is nothing too exciting, and it was a little quirky in that there were photographs of Mayor Daly throughout our suite. But it was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. We heard the Sunday gospel brunch was a site to see so we popped in for our complimentary breakfast and for serenaded by the owner/chef/innkeeper/gospel singer! He even came by our table and greeted us. The food was excellent and the gospel music was such a novelty. Interesting experience!
