Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesPrice point unfortunately attracts a bad crowd. I heard from someone else staying here that another guest allegedly OD'd in a room while we were there. Host could limit this kind of activity by limiting rentals to travelers, such as by requiring an out-of-state ID to check in (I have seen this done at other low-cost places). Bed was a little firm for my taste, but that's more a matter of personal preference than anything else. No included parking, which I expected in a city environment. There are paid garages nearby. Other guests frequently left dirty dishes, dirty pots and pans, etc. in the kitchen.
Conveniently located within walking distance of JHU. Entry process was very easy. Host shared entry information several hours before check-in and was very responsive to my inquiries during my stay. Room and linens were clean and comfortable. Full, well-equipped kitchen available to all. You get a single room in a 6 bedroom/2 bathroom house, which I was happy with for what I paid. Ample street parking if you're staying over the weekend (restrictions in effect 7-7 M-F).

Very close to John Hopkins, seems like a decent neighbourhood. Heard a few other guests but didn't talk to anyone else in the building.

United StatesThe description was not accurate. The listing said it’s an apartment, but it’s just a room. Shared bath and shared kitchen. It’s still nice, but it should not say it’s an apartment.
This is a nice room.

United StatesIn this case, you get what you pay for, so shared bathroom, clean but kind of oldish furniture, slightly musty smell as if somebody had smoked there at some point even though it's non-smoking now. Thin walls but quiet for sleeping at night (at least the crowd that was there when I was, on a random non-holiday weekend in January).
Location good for being near JHU campus and shopping street - easy and safe to get back and forth. Felt safe with multiple locks as system for every door (including bedroom door). Definitely a low-budget option -- not for the kind of person who likes a nice hotel, but if you're the kind of person who just sleeps in a room and doesn't need anything else (and are OK with shared bathroom, and no fanciness at all), then this is a fine option.

United StatesThe listing is incorrect. This is is NOT an entire apartment. This is a room in an apartment with a shared bath and kitchen. Other guests partied late at night and there was a bunch of shouting at 4 am. Parking is tricky if you're not coming on the weekend. The neighborhood has a two-hour parking limit on weekdays. So if you're bringing a car, you may have to move it constantly to avoid a ticket. The mattress was comfortable, but the sheets and pillows and towels were all very chintzy.
No breakfast. Perfect location. Clean room.

United StatesMostly small things which were missing: No doorknob at the inside, or a place/shelf to leave your toothbrush or towel in your room. Only one outlet sort of accessable which was hidden behind a table with both plugs used for the fridge and air conditioner.
Close to STSI,. and quiet. Nice residential house and easy parking in the street. Shared bathroom was clean. Basic. room but functional, and tasteful decorated. Wifi was good.

United StatesI woke up in the middle of the night very hot. I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the air conditioner. The second con was the bathroom carpet. It is shared between all roommates and it didn’t have the chance to dry between whoever showered. I chose not to shower for this reason…kinda gross, I only stayed a few hours+ rest. Just bring shower shoes. Plan on sharing
The bed seemed freshly washed and it was very comfortable. We shared a house with about 5 roommates. I never saw their faces. They were quiet. For the most part it was a peaceful stay. The house was otherwise clean and secure.
