Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI wish that the room had at least one comfortable upholstered/cushioned chair. There was a wooden bench with some pillows and a small wooden settee, but no actual upholstered chair to relax in. It just would really add a level a comfort. Also I would prefer real glasses and mugs in the room instead of the plastic/paper ones. Given that everything else in the room was so nicely appointed, it just seemed odd to have the plastic cups. Other than that everything was wonderful
We really enjoyed our stay. I liked that our room was in the carriage house because it felt more private. It was very clean and tastefully decorated with a large bathroom. They had a wonderful breakfast each day and went out of their way to cater to any dietary needs.

United StatesThe grounds on the property could use some maintenance. There is a beautiful rock waterfall that wasn’t working and looked run down. The waterfall would definitely add to the charm of the property.
Absolutely beautiful mansion! The breakfast was amazing. The room was beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

United StatesEverything was perfect, clean ,great atmosphere, wonderful hot served breakfast including seasonal foods. The grounds and mansion are unbelievable! The furnishings we're perfect down to every detail. The bonus was a half hour history lesson on the previous owners, since the 1600's, held in the parlor by a very funny and knowledgeable staff member. Don't miss this only mansion you can tour and actually stay in Nashville!! Definitely a do again.

United StatesDue to the size of our party (3), we were placed in the Retreat House, a more modern small building on the property. We would have preferred the main house and will pay closer attention to that if we go again. I would have liked an earlier breakfast option.
The mansion is lovely, clean and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomKey codes for the doors is only sent 15 minutes before check in via a message which we found very impersonal. However after knocking for a while we were kindly let in early by a member of staff. The location was bad. Without a car, you are stuck. Thre was no where to walk as you are right on a main road and a freeway on 2 sides of the building, so it is very expensive for taxis to go anywhere. The room vibrates with the traffic so disturbs sleep and is very noisy off the traffic. Lighting in the bathroom was bad. Only 1 overhead light bulb was working over the mirror and sink. When we asked about having the bulbs replaced they brought a table lamp and put it next to the sink. The shower had 6 holes and is really bad. No pressure in the water. The toilet seat moved about. When asked if this could be sorted the reply was, all the seats are like that. The wardrobe was shocking inside rough wood and the air conditioning pipes run through the wardrobe and you could see where it had leaked before. The drawers were not clean to put clothes inside and had an old smell about them. Only one bedside table with one lamp, so it was impossible for one person to read in bed. No comfortable sofa to watch the TV on in an evening. Just an old wooden pew and some odd chairs. Breakfast slot was too short. The property was very well decorated with antique furniture. However, they have forgotten the things that make your stay more pleasant like good lighting and comfort in the rooms. The house is more like a museum than a comfortable B&B. We stayed in an old mansion in Memphis and that was really relaxing and within walking distance of the city and attractions. It was fitted to ensure ultimate comfort for guests. This B&,B is massively overpriced and could be so much better. We were really disappointed and on the last night moved to a hotel to get some decent rest. You can get a hotel with really good amenities for a lot less.
