Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesJust wish the room had a mini fridge! This was not a big deal but we were in the cottages so getting up to the house was hard since it was raining and the mini fridge was always full
The staff was great, very responsive before we arrived and during. The location was also very accessible to the city and surrounding areas.

United StatesNothing! It was perfect…Thanks Kelly and Amber.
The Inn is a lovely bit of history in a great part of Asheville. We enjoyed the beautiful bedrooms and luxurious sheets. Breakfast was a nice buffet. The area is very walkable into town, yet quiet. It is also not far from coffee, shops, restaurants, or Trader Joe’s. The staff was very friendly, and super helpful.

United StatesIt’s a little bit of a walk to downtown…which, once or twice isn’t too bad. Over the course of a few days might be a bit much—and if the weather wasn’t enjoyable. It takes about 20 min and in good weather is pleasant. The return is mostly uphill and in average health not too taxing.
The breakfast was great. Being able to take a cup of coffee or breakfast out on their expansive front porch is a treat. The house is historic and experience true, and comfortable to a house of this age. A nice alternative to the more-modern hotel.

United StatesIt would have been nice to have some cooked breakfast options like potatoes or eggs (not just hard-boiled).
Really beautiful inn on a great property. Walking distance to town. Staff was very friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable.

United StatesThe grounds were beautifully landscaped with flowers and trees, with comfortable spaces to sit, including patios and the front porch rockers and swing. We were free to wander. It was a short walk to conveniences -- good restaurants and groceries.

United StatesI was disappointed that the breakfast was continental. Having stayed at Cedar Crest this time last year, I looked forward to the prepared breakfast. Bring back the chefs!
I liked everything about the property. I originally planned to travel on my own but my sister tagged along at the last minute. Our room was large enough to accommodate her air mattress. The neighborhood was lovely and the wrap around porch was a bonus for relaxation.

United StatesWe were disappointed that the inn did not serve the complete breakfast but we fully understand why.
The inn was beautiful and our room was so comfy! Our room overlooked the garden but too early to be blooming. The hostess was lovely and shared a lot about the home especially about the hurricane.

United StatesI liked all the history and detail. The staff were very helpful and proactively corrected an issue that arose. Good customer service is what distinguishes a property now-a-days as it’s becoming rarer and rarer in these generic box hotels.

United StatesThe bathroom in the Rose room could use a lot of updating. New floors, maybe seal off the door to the hallway and re-glue the peeling wallpaper.
The house and property had a lot of charm. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was wonderful.

United StatesWe stayed in a room with a most unusual bathroom. We didn't care for the set up.
We loved the beauty and history of the home. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONALLY well prepared. The staff were friendly and considerate. The grounds and the home were vey well kept and the character of the decor was perfect. We wish we could have stayed longer and gotten in earlier. Although we didn't care for the restroom in our room, WE WILL BE GOING BACK -- just staying in a different room! There are so many amenities in the house we didn't get to enjoy, we want to go back near the Holidays.

United StatesWonderful delicious breakfast. So many personal touches and attention to detail in the food and presentation. A very talented chef works behind the scenes, no doubt about it. Beautiful atmosphere. Hospitable, kind, helpful staff. The grounds are impeccable. We stayed in the Savannah cottage which was very quaint and comfortable. Each morning we were greeted by the smell of local coffee available 30 minutes before breakfast. In the afternoons, freshly baked cookies and a Keurig to make a cup of tea, were an added treat. Overall, I highly recommend. This B and B is a true gem.
