The washer & dryer were a great amenity and we were very thankful to use, but found them to be somewhat loud even with medium loads. The TV was a bit difficult to operate.

Great views! Comfy beds. Loved that the beach was just a couple minutes’ walk away. Kitchen was fairly well equipped. Was not prepared for the bbq to be a flat top instead of a grill, but we found a workaround.

We got a blanket out of the cupboard and it had stains and smelled dirty. When we sat for dinner, there was only three forks in the house. My daughter found some vhs movies but we couldn't figure out how to switch inputs.

Ok...this is going to be a bit rough. I am a fair assessor and I use reviews for most online purchases and/or decisions, so I believe in an honest review. We knew from the photos that this property is a bit outdated and not fancy - no problem. I don't need things to be "nice" but I do need them to be clean and fully operational - this property was neither. Upon arrival the whole house smelled bad - really bad like dirty mop water and musty walls. We opened all the windows to try to clear things out a bit. As we started looking around more, it was clear why it smelled so bad. I don't think this place has had a deep clean in well over 6 months. This started a string of texts inspired by the one I received from Vacasa, who actually manages this property, asking for a 1 to 5 rating for cleanliness. Well, I gave it a 3 which was then later reduced to a 2 as I kept looking around. Whenever I asked for someone to come back and clean possibly, I was told it was forwarded to the local team. I realized on day 2 that wasn't going to happen so I went to the Dollar General (awesome, by the way), got some cleaning supplies, and got to work. I didn't want to clean on vacation, but I also couldn't have my family staying in this place seeing what I had seen. We checked the beds for bed bugs because of the lack of cleanliness around the rest of the house -that says something. Additionally, the shower drain was so backed up that the floor pan would fill and overflow within minutes (there is good water pressure, haha). You could see from the water marks on the floor that this had been an issue for a while as well. Vacasa did end up sending out a plumber on the 3rd day, we appreciated that.

The house is cute and quaint and the location is fantastic! If the house had been clean and the shower drain working, my rating would be very different. The enclosed front porch was one of my favorite places to sit and read with peek-a-boo views of the ocean. The little front patio is also a really nice place to sit and relax. You can bring your dog, which is a huge bonus! Overall, I would not stay here again. Rockaway beach resort is right across the street, just as old, but clean, and they allow pets now. Vacasa did these things well: The key code was correct but there was no key in the box. We had to call Vacasa and speak with someone who gave us a code for a secondary box which worked. The key was in there. After hearing that the shower was continuously overflowing, they contacted the property owner and approved a plumber to fix the problem.

My only complaint was that I had thought this house was right on the beach. That was my own misunderstanding. It is super close though and even has a little bit of an ocean view.

We loved staying here! Having a washer and dryer was a must with all the rainy/windy weather we had during our stay.

I moved the smaller couch over to have a clear view of the tele to watch a movie and found a half dissolved white tablet that one of my dogs could have got a hold of. I swept the pill up with enough dirt and sand to acknowledge the floors had also not been cleaned. Scrubbed some kind of liquid drip of food in the fridge so I wouldn’t get dinged for it. Then one of my dogs kept trying to get under the master bed where I found two paper bowls with one having dried food stuck to the side that he must have ate and had diarrhea the rest of the weekend. Let the owner walking his dog behind the place one day. Then find dog poop the next day that wasn’t from my dogs but picked it up so I wouldn’t get blamed for it. It was a lovely sunny weekend but no chairs to sit outside. No outdoor fire pit as advertised or any rémanents of one so literally (?) how can you advertise? The parking instructions text to you literally instruct you to park in the neighbors spot and the only sign you get is one picture instruction where the coat hang rack is that you would miss checking in at 4pm in the winter at dusk until you remove coat after trying to puzzle it out with the accommodating nice neighbor because your spot has no identifier than « Vacasa » and numbers that don’t correspond with the address or anything the next afternoon. They send wifi info that’s absolutely false. Check the back of the modem for actual info.

It was close to the beach and adequate size. The closed Sun porch was lovely and do was the indoor fire.
