Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It is an amazing place near French Quarter. Owners are special and they are very attentive to details. You fill like home, or in the house of some good friends. The pool is great.

AustriaBring your earplugs, the old building has very thin walls and you can follow a conversation from your neighbor. Our fellow guests were respectful and tried to be quiet in the evenings and early mornings - but I think this is not always the case.
I normally do not rate places 10 - but this one has earned it. It is so beautiful, there is so much love and effort put to detail.. We really enjoyed being there one rainy afternoon. it feels like home away from home so quickly. The whole family is so committed to do the maximum for their guests, and the breakfast is outstanding in quality. We can and will recommend Kate's place to everyone planning to go to New Orleans.

We had wonderful days in the Auld Sweet Olive. It is the perfect starting point to discover New Orleans. Quiet, relaxed and family-run. Every morning there was a different delicious breakfast and the pool was refreshing on hot days. Everyone was very friendly and I would come back to the B&B anytime if I were back in New Orleans.

United StatesThe shower in our room was very small but the water was hot and it was a well stocked bathroom with fluffy white towels, a hairdryer, soap and shampoo/conditioner!
The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable! Beautiful antiques, wood floors and high ceilings with fans! The included breakfast was delicious and healthy every morning! The coffee and OJ were very good and Kate the property manager is so friendly, welcoming and gave us a great list of sights to see in the city! She is fantastic at her job and I highly recommend this property!

JerseyWe liked everything about our stay!
We enjoyed our balcony apartment very much, with its lovely seated area, hammock and view of the pool/ well kept gardens. The neighborhood is filled with creole cottages, it was peaceful, friendly and a stones throw from Frenchman and great local places to eat. The host Kate makes amazing breakfasts and has lots of really helpful info, the main house is beautifully kept and the owners dad Steve is friendly too. There’s a cooperative food store and Marie’s Bar with the Slap Burger 2 mins walk away, two great Thai restaurants 10 mins walk. Really happy we chose this B&B for Jazz Fest, we met lovely guests staying there and had great chats over breakfast. Definitely recommended.

United StatesI just wanted to stay longer. LOL There was a full moon over the new pool. Doesn't get better than that! This is my second time to make the Oak Room, my room. And I am coming back next month for a third time!
Breakfast was more than sufficient. Atmosphere cannot be beat. Kate is the best! Above and beyond sufficient service. A hearty.... heart-full, restorative place.

United StatesN/a, everything was awesome.
The home is gorgeous! There is art and color in every corner, the furniture and details are a beautiful blend of old and new. The Courtyard Suite was the perfect size for our honeymoon getaway, it was tucked away and private and was well-appointed. The breakfast was phenomenal, and definitely the main reason we decided to stay here. Kate, the innkeeper, was incredibly welcoming and hospitable and gave us some great recommendations on things to do in the city. All-around fantastic experience!

Auld sweet olive Just, stay here. Just do it. Don’t even look at another place to stay, this is your home away from home in NOLA!!! This property is stunning and inviting. Kate, the in keeper is a QUEEN and the ultimate B&B Mama. You will feel at home from moment one here. I’m a NOLA native but live out of state now, and I will be staying here EVERY TRIP HOME from now on. There’s a heated pool and a hot tub. There’s fresh, homemade hot breakfast every morning. There’s a beautiful living room where you can curl up with a book or play any one of the many games they have available. Or you can just drink. ;) The location is perfect. You can get anywhere you need to by a quick uber. Lots of great local bars and cafes and places to eat/drink that are walking distance (hello, Marie’s!) The Marigny is such a special place and you won’t regret staying here. We literally cried when we left. You will leave a piece of your heart at Auld Sweet Olive. We are coming back, Kate!!

United StatesThis area probably wouldn't be good for people who are in need of assistance walking. The sidewalks are generally very bumpy, making it easy to trip. Tree roots and high water tables make them generally in poor repair. Parking in the city can be a challenge too.
Breakfast was amazing; Kate, the host, is a wonderful cook. The building is within easy walking distance from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. It is safe to walk round this area and we felt very comfortable here. Loved the pool and the fire pit too.
