How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location was close to a busy road so some road noise but with the AC fan on it helped to create white noise.
It was a no-frills motel that was clean, good value and close to the jersey shore. Perfect for our 1 night stay. The owner was great, we arrived late after the front desk was closed and we rang the bell and he came quickly and checked me in. There was a great little bagel and coffee shop right next door and we walked there for breakfast.

It was a little hard to find proper temperature.

I was a little disappointed this time. The fitted sheet had hair and other debree on it. I went to the office and received another one with no problem. However i was a little surprised that no apology was given. The pads and matress enclosure underneath the sheet was clean when I checked. It was my 4th time staying there and that never happened before.

My wife is short, and the beds are 28" off the floor. She had to work to climb into bed. Bed was a bit on the hard side. Property is convenient to a busy road, but that also makes for noisy traffic at times. Shower is a good size, but takes very long to get hot water.
This is a motel that is showing its age some, but is nicely kept, clean, no bad smells.

Pillows were stiff foam, but usable. No ice. Right next to highway traffic noise. It would have been nice to have some outdoor chairs or a sitting area to enjoy the nice weather.
Very clean and easy to get there. Nice whirlpool bathtub was great for my husband and me with our aches and pains. Nice fridge, complimentary coffee, bottle of water, microwave. Lots of room for clothing and personal items. Real nice restaurant/ bar right next door (the Ivy League) had good food, nice atmosphere. No pets; even though I have pets, I don't like staying at hotels that accept them. Good wifi. Nice bagel place next door.

You need to get new pillows they were very dirty and gross. The pillows had pillow cases on them, you need to put pillow covers on them as well.

My door key was a tiny bit sticky and took a few tries but if you hadn't asked this question I wouldn't have mentioned it.
It's a really great little motel. The rooms are basic but always super clean. It's on a main road and food and beverages are all in walking distance. The owners are lovely and always do their best to accommodate me.

We were not crazy about the steps to get up to the non-smoking rooms. There is no elevator, but the owner was very willing to help.
We were very pleased with At 9 Motel. It was definitely clean. The bed was very comfortable, there was a box of facial tissues, and also a bottle of water. We really liked the location--we did not have to fight the heavy traffic had we stayed south of Lakewood.

There was no hot water in the shower. I let it run for over 10 minutes and it was still ice cold. I only stayed the one night, so no big deal. It would have to be rectified if I needed to stay longer.
The location was perfect for my trip. The bed was comfortable.

No real complaints everything was manageable. I cleaned my hot tub before use. I requested any item I needed to make my stay manageable and the office man complied with a business tone.

Hot tub package needed more bath towels, wich obviously is a minor detail.
This place is nice. The staff is friendly and the walking distance restaurant/tavern is very nice with good food.
