How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewCozy home feeling at this B&B. The bed was very comfortable and we had our own private bathroom. The breakfast was amazing which included fresh fruit, egg frittata, and coffee cake. The manager/owner was so nice and helpful with any questions we had. So quaint and reasonable! I would definitely recommend!

Verified reviewVery beautiful home with a quaint setting. There were games and bicycles available to use.
Set far back from main road. Drove past it when arriving. Breakfast times were too late for us to enjoy. We needed to leave earlier than the 8:30 to 9:30 time.

Verified reviewcharm and service.
worst mattress ever in my life. , noisy AC unit , toilet broken - draining water entire night. Would not come back again. -not for us. Felt tired as hell after sleeping here.
Greetings! Thank you for staying with us. Our guest room experience is truly extraordinary and something that we have very high confidence of, so I am surprised that you didn't enjoy it, especially when you indicated you did when you were here. For this, I apologize. In any event, take care and enjoy your summer!

Verified reviewComfortable stay, room is spacious. Staff is very friendly. Very interesting artwork and overall decorum is awesome. Location is wonderful
Breakfast was very limited to a quiche and muffin and a small bowl of fresh fruits. While the quality of the food was good, breakfast is limited. Looking for more options for vegetarian and vegan. Little more bath accessories such as good quality lotions would have been good.
Thank you for staying and for your feedback! Our complimentary breakfast is one of the favorite things of our guests, and is rare to find breakfast at this level in today's market. Our egg dishes (quiche, stratas, fritattas, etc.) are made every morning, fresh, from scratch. Our bakery items (muffins, pastries, scones) are also made every morning, fresh, from scratch. Our fruit is freshly chopped and of a variety. We serve healthy portions that are nutritionally balanced. If someone is vegan or vegetarian, we accommodate - as we did in your case- and if someone wants extra food, we also give them more, as we did in your case. We hope to see you again!

Verified reviewThe ambiance and the owner/operator. He was gracious and helpful. This B+B could be a setting for a Halmark movie!
The stairs are steep and many.
Thank you for coming! Yes, those almost 200 year old stairs are indeed steep and long, but for next visit, reserve one of our guest rooms on the main floor. Thank you again!

Verified reviewThe grounds are lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated with historic furniture and wallpaper matching the period. There were places to sit and a charging port on the night table. It was in a convenient location that was walkable to many interesting restaurants and the town park. The check in process was quick. Coffee and tea was available 24x7. Breakfast was included and had fresh fruit, a muffin, coffee, juice and an egg dish. Parking was plentiful.
Thank you for visiting, and for sharing your experiences! We are delighted that you enjoyed our historic inn and little town. Take care!

Verified reviewEverything was lovely and relaxing in this beautiful historic mansion. I slept so soundly I almost missed breakfast! Luckily I got there in time, and when I made a small request to change the menu (to a vegetarian option), they were very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were really pretty, and the peony flowers in the garden were simply amazing, bringing back memories from my childhood. I only wished I could have recorded the fantastic scent along with the photos! I look forward to staying here again next time I am in town.
Nothing!

Verified reviewHistorical and hospitable. Wonderful accommodations and breakfast.
No complaints at all. There was a strong floral smell upon entering the reception and it was a little overwhelming for me as I am sensitive to strong scents but that was a personal preference and not an establishment issue. If anything a sign of care and cleanliness. The rooms did not seem to have a strong scent - just clean and welcoming and homey.
We are so glad you were comfortable and enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the feedback!
