Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a little bit of condensation on the vent in our bathroom that was dripping on the counter. The gentleman at the front desk was great when we checked in, although the same can’t be said about the other staff. The few times we went out and came back, we were never greeted. It seemed like the front desk staff was totally oblivious to guests coming in and out.
The property is great. Within walking distance of great restaurants.

United StatesDisappointed that bar closed at 9pm and didn't get a chance to listen to the live music. I understand that it is an old building and noise does travel throughout, but wish they were at least til 10pm. Also, no breakfast. Dining room didn't open 11am. Great location

United StatesDecor was scarce. Most furniture and bed pillows were budget items and not comfortable.
This hotel is a historical treasure in many ways. Being an older building makes it more personal and cosey. The rooms are adequate in size and somewhat small for a suite. The upholstered furniture was worn and not very comfy. The beds were ok but the pillows were hard and less than comfortable. I would love to love this hotel if their rooms were more comfortable than what we encountered. We requested close hotel rooms and were assigned with far reaching rooms on the same floor. We enjoyed the lounge vibe and guitar singer was really great for a fun Saturday night. The restaurant was amazing for breakfast and awesome coffee. The issues can be easily fixed and we would agree this place is an awesome hotel.

United StatesUnfortunately the restaurant on the ground floor overwhelms the hotel. The elevator is next to the kitchen and the kitchen door is always open. Smells from the restaurant pervade the entire property even up to the third floor.
Excellent location, very comfortable bed.

United StatesThe elevator is broken. I am older and have a bad back. They moved us to the 2nd floor instead of 3rd and gave us 10% off in bar. So my husband saved $1 on a drink. He paid $9 plus tip. They could have at least offered 2 free drinks for both our inconvenience.

United KingdomGreat location. Our daughter got married in the area and whole wedding party stayed in the hotel. We booked out the bar on the Sunday night after the wedding and it was just perfect. Dustin the bar manager accommodated our group very well, supplying drinks and cocktails until after midnight which we were so grateful for. Thanks Dustin!! Room was lovely, a little smaller than the photos suggested but very nice all the same.

United KingdomShower heads need to be cleaned better, our friends in the large suite said the same. Communication in general over the last year of booking this hotel for our wedding party was always a little challenging, but I know they have gone through management changes and everyone has always been pleasant. But I do think they will succeed more with clearer channels of communication with guest and staff.
Great location for waking in downtown Deland and only a few mins drive to the wedding venues nearby where we got married. Dustin the bar manager was incredible and so flexible staying open for our wedding after party until after midnight and making great drinks. He managed to do this with very short notice due to miscommunication, so we Thank you very much! Rooms are beautifully designed and have bright fresh interior and furniture.

United StatesThe AC in the bedroom seemed to be very erratic, and not working as efficiently as the one in the main living area. It got very hot in the night at times. So we slept with the door open to the living room to get the room cooler.
The rooms were massive, and had unique touches, plenty of wardrobe space and lots of attention to detail such as cotton buds in the bathroom, robes with slippers, nice snacks, two choices of bathmats - these are things you usually only find in very high end 5 star hotels.

United StatesNot much - everything was lovely. I wish the pool was still there - and also wish there was a gym, but otherwise it was terrific!
What an unexpected gem! I originally intended to stay one night, but unexpectedly had to stay the entire week. The staff and owner of the Artisan went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. The rooms were light and comfy, all the great local restaurants, shops and live music spots were a short walk from the hotel, and the town and hotel are very special places. Everyone is so kind, helpful and warm. Nothing beats staying in family-owned hotels and this is no exception. The family suite is perfect for a couple or parent and child and the fridge was very handy. The owner took extra special care of us - as did the entire team.
