The staff are friendly, and the rooms feature charming antique décor and a kitchenette to do some own cooking. A hot breakfast is served on the 8th floor with excellent views over Washington Memorial and the Capitol, and most importantly, the rates are reasonable. The location is also convenient—just a seven-minute walk from the Courthouse Metro station. Simply turn left out of the hotel, walk two blocks, cross the parking lot, and you’re there. For those who enjoy walking, it’s even possible to stroll back from the Lincoln Memorial after exploring the National Mall—crossing the Arlington Memorial Bridge takes about an hour.

We asked the room to be cleaned and the hotel did not do it. We had asked again for it. The hotel needs an upgrade

The rooms are. spacious. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is ok. You have access to a laundry room which is handy if you stay there for quite a while. The kitchenette is big so you can cook if you want.

The close metro access

The first room we stayed in, room 507, was very run down. Chipped furniture, striped walls, the bathroom mirror looked like it had had termites. Needs a lot of work. At night the water pipes made strange sounds. The second room, room 714, was a lot better. Still needs work, but better. The hotel does cleaning service only twice a week, it needs to be three times a week, at least! And eventhough the breakfast fare was good, a little variety would not hurt. I mean, same scrambled eggs, pancakes, cornflakes everyday!

We stayed twice this week. The size of the rooms are fantastic. The hotel is very close to DC which is very convinient

Breakfast could be better, didn't include anything healthy except apples and oranges, not even yogurt. We didn't have enough pots in the kitchen, there was only one big pot and a small saucepan without a lid.

The wi-fi was unpredictable - sometimes it worked fine, other times no connection which is difficult as an international traveler without a US cell phone. Breakfast could include a few more healthy options - cut fruit or yoghurt would be nice. There was fruit but only whole apples or oranges.

The hallways are a little dark, and the carpet looks old.
