The breakfast wasn't great - cold, stale, rubbery biscuit. There was no breakfast meat option and other than that I only had a yogurt.

There wasn't an exhaust fan in the bathroom, the pool room was excessively hot, there wasn't an ice machine on the second floor, and the air conditioner never got really cold.

The breakfast was lacking it could definitely be stepped up. The biscuits were hard and dry and the eggs were cold. There really were not many options. Perhaps instead of trying to have these few warm items just have some shelf stable items, and some coffee. There was no juice that we saw which was a bummer. The hotel is definitely old. It was very cold during our stay and the window was covered in frost with what looked like some black mold growing in a few corners. The bathtub was a bit dirty and one of the hand towels had a yellow stain on it not sure if it was a stain or if it was never swapped out. The beds were extremely firm and thin like the old school motel mattresses.

Was in town for a birthday party that was at the hotel. The meeting room was nice. The lobby had lots of tables and the owner was very accommodating. The pool area was VERY clean and nice. The water was warm. The room was ready early for us. Lobby is nice and big with tables and lots of seating which allowed us to hang out that evening with family who was also staying. This was nice. We stay in newton a few times per year there are not many hotel options, this is the best option if you are wanting a pool.

Didn’t have 2 queen bed rooms available and pool and hot tub were closed (didn’t find out about the pool closure until right before our stay; therefore, didn’t have enough time to cancel and book somewhere else. Plus, very low availability of nearby rooms due to state dance competition). Pool and hot tub on site was one of the main reasons for booking this location. Also didn’t like having to pay for parking although the covered parking was convenient.

Good location, friendly and helpful front desk staff, good breakfast, great kitchen in the room.

Convenient location for road travel across Iowa. Friendly front desk attendant. Relatively newer facility compared to other AmericInns we’ve stayed at before. Reasonable breakfast with adequate room. Might have added some meat like sausage or bacon to the eggs, but very good overall.

front desk person difficult to understand, would not honor rate listed on web site if taken reservation over phone, rate was only for on line reservation. you could have lost a two room reservation if we could not reserved on line while in a car with phone. risky business

My first night room had ants in it. They couldn't do nothing that night cause they was all book up but the next day they was able to put me in new room an much smaller. Everything also was 🙂

As with many motels, the lighting in the room was kind of dim, but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway other than to sleep.

Breakfast was good with a nice variety of dry items and standard eggs, biscuits and gravy, and famous waffle makers. The grandkids loved the waffle makers and the extra touch of available cherries and whipped cream. The grandkids also loved the swimming pool which was clean and well stocked with pool towels.

I have stayed at this location before and in the same room. This time when I checked in there was hair in the sink and on the vanity which makes the room seem unclean though the rest of the room was fine. The refrigerator in the room made a loud humming noise that kept me up at night. I tried to move the credenza to unplug it but it was to heavy. Needs to be replaced.

Breakfast was fine and the staff was friendly and efficent.
