Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe designer is said to be a "minimalist." With that in mind, the room lacked basic necessities. There was no dresser to put your clothes in. We were there for 5 days and had to live out of our luggage. The closet had no door on it. There were no washcloths in the bathroom. Even the bedside tables were these inexpensive, plastic shelves. I felt like I was sleeping in an Ikea bedroom display. Also, our curtain rod was broken. We told the staff, but no one came to fix it. And, when we asked for more hangars because there was no dresser, we only got 2 hangars delivered. And, when we asked for washclothes - since there were none in the bathroom - we got 2 delivered, but when we used them, then had the room cleaned, they did not replace them. Finally, it's noisy at night. The layout of the parking lot and hotel ensures that if you are on the parking lot side, you will hear every late-nighter walking, talking, and yelling to their car. You will also hear the restaurant workers yelling at the bear who likes to eat out of the garbage!
Evo is in a great location in Tahoe City - walking distance from the beach and all of the restaurants/stores. The staff was nice. Free coffee till 11 AM - and very good! We were able to rent ebikes from them, which was very easy. We had a nice view of the lake, a block away!

United StatesVery small room and bathroom in an old motor inn, which they have tried to modernize but it still feels old. The price is too high for this small, basic room. No breakfast or even any snacks.
Location is the highlight of this hotel directly across from the lake and in the thick of town. Nice firepit and fun seats out front. Dog friendly and near to the dog park.

United KingdomIt was a refurbished motel and soundproofing was not very good.
It was right by beach in Tahoe City and in centre of town so easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Free bus from Truckee and part way round lake and to Olympic Village. Also free local car rides, all provided by TART. Comfortable elevated outdoor seating with views of lake.

United StatesThe TV had a wifi connection issue, but I don't really use TV in hotels.
I really liked this place. Super cute, right on the lake. Friendly staff. I was on a staycation, and this really suited me. The price was MORe than fair too. Lots of nice things to walk to, right across from the beach. More than dog-friendly, dog loving property. Thanks.

United StatesThe sauna's location, in front of reception and next to the car park, is not ideal and doesn't have that sense of peace and relaxation you associate with saunas. It needs hooks for guests to hang their clothes or towels, as in the winter it's quite cold to walk straight from the room outside to the sauna. The cold plunge tub wasn't yet functional when we were there but appeared to be too small for a proper cold plunge. Some of the fixtures in the bathroom (the shower drain and sink?) appear to be original and seem a little aged / worn.
As is the trend around Tahoe, Evo refurbished an old decrepit motel into a modern hotel. Really appreciate this as Tahoe has a shortage of mid-range hotels for those of us that don't want to spend over $400 a night but also don't want to risk getting bed bugs in a dirty motel. The upgrade is generally tasteful and comfortable, although keep in mind they have to work with the existing motel structure, hence very small bathrooms. Appreciated the on-site sauna although some room for improvement here. The on-site restaurant had a limited menu when we were there but the two things we ordered were delicious - look forward to their full menu. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

United StatesPerhaps the cheap materials used in the remodel or build are the reason for the noise level. Walls and doors felt paper thin due to the noise.

United StatesSince the floors are hard (vs. carpet) there is a fair amount of noise if those above you are walking around. Check in and check out were lengthy due to system issues and staff newness. That said, everyone was very nice.
The beds are super comfortable and the location is great. You can walk to everything easily, whether along the street or down on the lake walkway. It was easy with our dog. The two sitting areas at the front were comfortable and fun since we had a group. Loved being able to go to the bar/restaurant to get a beverage, snack and hang out.
