Upon reflection, we might have preferred the downtown location over this one. The mall here was pretty suburban and felt like an engineered environment. Being in downtown might have felt a little bit more real.

It was really modern and the artistic touches were fun. I liked the textured wallpaper. Artsy. The room was comfy. No problems there. Location was above a mall-type development with restaurants and a park with a concert. That was really nice. We felt like we were in a community where people lived, worked and did day to day things. I had to do a zoom meeting and there were no problems with the internet connection. All functioned as it should have.

Really I'd say the only complaint we had was that it was the first hotel we stayed at, that didn't have usb ports for charging phones, or tablets. Luckily my wife came prepared. Other than that, it was fine.

Location was great. Shopping areas and activities were not far from the location. The morning we were leaving, they had a foam party across the street for kids. Looked fun. If we'd had more time it would've been nice to check out their balcony seating. Beds were huge! A plus.

Disappointed in the bar and that it did not have much in the way of a selection of wine. I’ve stayed at ALoft before, and the bar was much better stocked than this time. The bartender was fabulous, but he had not much to give us.

Parking was in an inconvenient location. Smell of the entryway lobby lingered both days we were there. Room was not sheltered from the noisy hallway.

I liked the "modern" design, but it's a bit challenging. The clothes closet is small, shallow and strange, and many people will not figure out how it works (you pull the curtain aside and the outer rail becomes a nice long rack). People need to bring hangers or ask for more (the staff are very accommodating if you need anything). The rooms are short on takable amenities (hooray!), but the shower has excellent dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash which have a fantastic aroma. There are no folding stands for luggage - use the mod long sofa or bed instead. Housekeeping is every other day, unless you ask for more. The AC is noisy but super-fast and works like crazy. The AC controls are disconnected - use the thermostat. Bottom line - the place is a bit different, but good.

The ALoft Hotel (as in "A Loft") is in an absolutely fantastic, ritzy suburban location. The numerous upscale mall-type stores nearby make a great morning walk or shopping experience. There are TWO excellent sushi restaurants, one being right next door. Our room was quite spacious, in a modern minimalist style, so space allocation is a bit weird, but still very functional. The steamy shower and huge, clean bed were fantastic. The very readable and simple thermostat worked exceptionally well. The view was really nice, overlooking a small park, with two tall windows that could be shut completely. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Staff members were easy to contact, but stayed out of the way. The breakfasts are a bit Spartan and "to go" (some nice places to sit down if you want), but there are lots of healthy options, and the cooked-to-order breakfast sandwiches are quite good. There are a few quality breakfast options nearby, but many more options for lunch and dinner. The free parking garage is convenient and close by.

Street parking is very crowded and finding the vehicle entrance to the parking garage (around the next block) is tricky - but once you have parked it is a close and easy walk to the building front door. The lobby is on the second floor with elevator or stair access. Really, not a problem at all - just helpful to know when you arrive on a busy night. There is also valet parking and a pull through carport for unloading/loading.

Loved the location. Lots of restaurant options within easy walking distance. Parking was in a public lot nearby. The bed was comfy and clean. The lobby had a bar area, a pool table and a sitting area. Very relaxing after a long day.
