Good value; it was cool to stay in a historic property in the heart of downtown.

While the room was very clean, the mattress desperately needs to be replaced. I slept fine, but it was a bit saggy.

Fantastic location, friendly staff, great pre-stay communication. I liked staying in a historic property.

Layout of room was poor; bathroom extremely small. Window fan was blowing strings of dirt.

The location within walking distance of the port and many little locally-owned shops. Each staff member I interacted with was so helpful.

Since it is a really old building, a lot of things are not updated. Don’t expect anything fancy.

The building is a piece of history and should be treated as such. Lots of shops around so it was easy to find something.

Because no elevator, it was hard to bring luggages upstair and bring back down. Atleast someone will help. But still I enjoyed my stay there. and it's close to everything. Thank you!

Very noisy. Room was quiet small and because we couldn't leave windows open because of noise it was stuffy and hot.

Bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly.

If you want to park you have to park up the hill going down a private Drive to Park in a dirt and grassy area cut out of the Hill, then you have to go down a couple of flights of stairs with no lighting if it's dark to the upstairs back door that has a code if you arrive after 10:00 p.m. that you have to get from the front desk when you get to the door. Then you have to go down another 3 to 4 flights of stairs to get to the front desk to get your key to go up another two to three flights of stairs. It is an older building and it is very historical and they have kept it up pretty well but don't think the showers and bathrooms were cleaned as much as they should have been. I had a twin room with two beds and the shared bath was down the hall about 25 or 30 ft. Of the two twin beds one of them sloped to one side. The noise from people exiting the bar and the fighting in the street below went on until 3:00 a.m.. inside though there was really no noise and pretty quiet from all the other guests.

Staff responsive and friendly. Overall the room was clean except for a stained pillow case. Room was a little dated and was cleaned as well as it could. I really enjoyed the architecture and the original woodwork throughout the facility.

The music from the bar is loud and a couple of nights it went quite late. Not a real problem, but if you are a light sleeper it could be.

The location was perfect , clean rooms and pretty much what I expected. It’s an older building and is quirky.

Our room was way too warm and the bed was very soft and creaky. There was a box fan in the room and the radiator wasn't turned on, but we could not get the room to cool down. We slept pretty terribly due to the heat and uncomfortable bed. (I have stayed at the Alaskan before and didn't have any issues with the bed in my previous room.)

The location and staff are great. The hotel is charming and full of history.
