Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe Staff at the Bar area around 11PM was nothing short of disrespectful. I beaconned to them to let them know I would sit next to the windows and place our orders as we we hungry from an exhausting day checking in my daughter into her apartment at Howard University. Waited for a good 10 or more minutes considering that they were just chattering away and appeared oblivious to our need not sure if there was any other motive but to be honest I wanted to just walk out regardless. So yes that experience was not welcoming and one never know who their guest are until a report is made. Its best to treat all people with the same respect no matter their culture, identity or race.
The gentleman that checked us in was very courteous and accommodating.

United StatesNot their fault but they lost electricity along with the entire block but they were able to have generator up to get elevators and hot water running. The hotel did give credits back on the stay so it made the inconvenience manageable.
Great restaurant/lounge with a bar with good amount of seating. The room itself was roomy, clean and sleek. Complimentary morning bagels, pastries and coffee was a welcome surprise. AC Marriott was a great location to attend events my group was having in DC over the wknd. Staff was very responsive and accommodating.

United StatesThe room with a view was really a room with a view of the street and the room was fairly small. Luckily for my stay I was only there for two nights. Buffet breakfast wasn’t really that and not really worth $20 additional for two. I kind of had to order ala cart because the buffet was not filling.
The property was very nice and was new so everything was very modern chic and up to date.

This was a shame as it was a really nice hotel but the cleaners seemed lazy. There were other guests that we met who also had the same issue

United StatesThe lighting in hallways and our room was terrible. In some ways, it seemed like the designers made stylistic choices that were not very functional: large square shallow bathroom sink where toothpaste would just sit until you manually washed it down. Lobby bathrooms also had stylish but marginally functioning sinks and soap dispensers.
We liked the cucumber water in the lobby, the quick elevators, the central location, the front desk staff, the lobby bar happy hour, bartender, and comfy space.

United StatesThe bar located at the entrance tends to create a lively atmosphere on weekends, which can be quite noisy. It might enhance the guest experience if the bar were situated in a more private area, allowing guests to access their rooms without navigating through the bustling crowd.
I appreciate the stylish and contemporary ambiance of the room. The bedding was quite comfortable, and the sheets were clean and fresh. The bathroom was spacious and well-maintained, equipped with all the necessary amenities.
