Nice downtown hotel in Albany, 4 blocks from the state capitol and museums (it's a steep uphill walk...the capitol is on a hill). Room was large with nice desk, lots of plugs, microwave/fridge/coffee maker, and a firm bed. The bathroom was huge and shower worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful, including saving my food when I forgot to empty the fridge. Closest parking is 2 blocks away for about $30 per day -- the walk to/from the garage can be a bit creepy at night. There is street parking if you want to deal with the meters. Lots of eateries and some shopping in the neighborhood.

The hotel is under renovation, and they didn’t inform us. The central heating wasn’t working, and there was a very noisy heating unit in the middle of the room. I paid over $200 per night, and they gave me ONE bottle of water for 4 days; everything else you have to pay for. It’s a good hotel, but extremely overpriced.

Was promise Handicap Parking, with was blocked by a giant dumpster. Was basically laughed at by the front desks when I asked about it, stating I had a email from September 21st 2024 from the Management of the Hotel assuring me that I would have Handicap Parking

Our TV didn’t work, the clock In Room was not set properly , an hour off, didn’t realize till we got up later than plan, no Shampoo, no lotion. Etc

Really small elevator that was the shape of a triangle. Space out front to temporarily park your car to unload was too small.

There was no attention to detail. The man at the front desk was very helpful and smiley, which was appreciated as we had driven a long way. But he could have ironed his shirt! Our room had a non window in that it had curtains, but the window was opaque and let in no natural light.

The staff were helpful, and we had a free laundry. Breakfast was included, which was enough. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom.

Low value for price: No lobby or sitting area Hotel room was too small, too dark, not conducive to ordering in food. No restaurant & I didn’t feel comfortable going out at night as a woman alone. TV was too small, given distance to bed. Very frustrating trying to find out what TV show was playing on each channel: the Guide only listed the Channel… no grid showing shows across future hours.

I've stayed at various Marriott properties over the years in at least 50 different locations. This is the first time I've seen a note on the front door of a Marriott property stating that there were no public restrooms available inside. I did see that there were restrooms just off the lobby area, but from my short visit to downtown Albany, I also understood the reason for the sign.

Breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the blueberries and raspberries on the second morning more than the melon and pineapple the first morning. Maybe you could offer both fruit combos on all mornings.

My daughter forgot her tooth brush and they had none - had run out; also the "store" was not stocked well. They were out of a lot of things The elevator floor wasn't very clean; our door latch didn't work poperly
