The sheets were older and no longer soft, a little stiff. The pillows were older and no longer fluff. She could definitely invest in new sheets and pillows.

The location was excellent. You can walk to most spots, a 30 minute walk to main town. Minutes from entrance of cliff walk and marble house. Noreen was a kind and generous host. She was so nice to give us advice and directions and even let us use a clothes dryer in another unoccupied suite. The pool and hot tub were TERRIFIC

As advertised, there is no breakfast served but food items left for us in room could be upgraded.

The pool and garden area are beautiful. Also has a hot tub that we did not use. Very quaint Room, had everything 2 people could need.

The only minor problem we had was that the room was in the back of the building and my wife has problems with her knees. Walking around on the grass and stones was a challenge, but manageable. That's our problem, not the problem of Murray House.

There was no breakfast available but that didn't matter because if you go hungry in Newport it's your fault. The room was stocked with food and snacks anyway, so you could take care of yourself. The accommodations were very comfortable and very private. We were in a Garden Terrace room and the patio we had was great. Noreen, who owns Murray House, couldn't have been more hospitable.

having non expired food items and pastries that got state after two days was awful

The continental breakfast was horrible and unsafe. 2 donuts and 2 muffins were left on Sunday for a 2 night stay and never replenished. The instant oatmeal containers had an expiration date of 2024, the breakfast bars expired in 2023, and the individual fruit containers in the frig expired in 2023. Totally unsafe to consume! The location was great, close to most things but this should be a room only, not a B&B

Nothing it was perfect for my husband and I.

From the moment we arrived at the Murray House, we were captivated by its charming exterior and beautiful surroundings. Nestled right by the coast, in a nice quiet neighborhood. The Garden room was tastefully decorated, making every corner feel like a cozy retreat. We could easily see ourselves relaxing here for days. One of our favorite spots was the sunny terrace, and the bird sanctuary. We indulged in our morning coffee while watching the beautiful variety of birds. It was the perfect way to start our days. Speaking of adventures, we took advantage of the house’s prime location. We enjoyed leisurely walks around the neighborhood, as well as visits to nearby attractions like the stunning Newport mansions. The Marble house is less than a ten minute walk, and we can’t forget about shopping! We spent an afternoon exploring the quaint shops and boutiques in downtown Newport. Found some unique souvenirs to take home. The free trolley stop was close by so we took advantage of it when we went downtown. Noreen the owner was wonderful. My husband chatted with the maintenance man as they had a lot in common he is from Massachusetts and lived a few towns away from our home. He was also a fisherman and boy my husband loves to fish.

Communication with the owner "Noreen" was just odd . Never met her in person , never had contact with anyone when arrived to the location, everything was done through an email. God forbid there was an emergency on location there was no immediate person to contact. We were told to leave a tip for an amazing housekeeper who never showed up to make up the room so im not quite sure what that was about. The wifi was terrible in room , we had to sit outside to receive any service. Honestly I never felt like I was Communicating with a real person, the place was a little eerie after spending time there. More social skills from the owner or call backs would've been more appreciated but it seemed like we were dealing with a ghost host 🤔

Quaint little home , many amenities like pool and hot tub . Location was walking distance to Bailey beach and cliff walk . Very cute place and location was amazing.

There are so many rules and messages everywhere. Lots of emails prior to staying. The room was a bit musty and we needed to air out the room. Right before our stay, I received an email that they hadn’t priced the stay of our dog into what we had paid them. So as we arrived we found out the bill was $100 more. Weirdly, there were dog treats all over the driveway.

The location was great. It’s close to the mansions and not too far from the southern part of the cliff walk. The safari themed was fun and the terrace area was very cute and well maintained Our dog was very welcomed. They even had toys and treats for him on the bed when we arrived.

The rooms in garden suite are quite dark and a bit damp when the weather outside is wet or rainy.

The location right there at the cliffwalk and Trolley station is perfect, city center is a walk or short uber trip away.

nothing, everything met or exceeded our expectations.

We had a lovely weekend staying at the Murray House. We stayed in the garden room and it was spacious and clean with closet space, a small kitchen stocked with snacks, and a large bathroom. The decorations added some personality as well! The room was cozy and very comfortable and we enjoyed using the very private garden right outside our door. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked beautiful and clean. About a 5-10 minute drive to the bustling part of Newport but the neighborhood itself was safe, quiet, and convenient. Noreen was also very clear with her directions for entry even though we arrived after dark. I would definitely recommend staying at the Murray House if ever visiting Newport!

If you are interested in going back to a complete 1950’s time capsule of a room, you will be delighted. Bed was a slab of cement. Signs posted everywhere telling you what to do/not to do. Old dirty throw rugs you don’t want to step on without your shoes. Not a B&B - no breakfast except a basket with packaged pop tarts in it. Host/Owner never showed her face. I could go on…
