How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA fantastic capsule hotel in Kharkiv! Extremely clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Even during challenging times, it provides a strong sense of safety with all windows securely boarded. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. Highly recommended for both comfort and price

Verified reviewThis place is "totally cool" 😎 In a word, "tranquility" - my go-to place. As an oftentimes weary traveler, it's so great to be received by kind/friendly people and find everything to be nicely provided late at night. The mattress is ☆☆☆☆☆. P.S. - great location for bus/train station connections.

Verified reviewVery comfortable capsule (although not so easy to climb into - I would suggest a few more bars and handles to hold onto). Really good mattress with an electrical plug next to it. Good wifi. Simple kitchen and common living room, with a kettle and a few tables. Excellent shower in a really nice bathroom. Good washing machine. Mostly friendly staff. Generally very clean and definitely good value for the price. Walking distance to town centre and not far from main railway station - also 2 minutes from a metro station if you did not want to walk. Lots of shops and restaurants close by too.
Checkout was a bit strange and uncomfortable. Receptionist was not there on the morning of checkout, so I took my key with me as I did not know what to do with it. Nobody gave me any instructions, so it was not clear at all. I had explained that I would be checking out later, as I had a night train. And when I came back in the evening I had a tea, and a shower. Suddenly the receptionist was furious, telling me that it was not normal to have a shower after checkout. I had already left the room, and just wanted a shower in the bathroom that was public anyway and not in use. Honestly, taking a shower was no different to taking a sh*t. I just used the bathroom while waiting. After this, the receptionist asked me to pay for another night or leave, despite the fact that I had been in the hostel for less than 48h, and did not even have a shower that morning. Unfortunate, as I did not have a chance to say goodbye to the Brazilian and Kiwi friends I had met there those days. A shame that a big drama came out of nothing.

Verified reviewThis is my second time staying here. The previous manager was an obnoxious and unhinged lunatic, but they fired her, and all the current managers are lovely. (If you previously had negative encounters with that awful manager, I suggest you give this place another chance.) The whole place is super clean all the time, particularly the kitchen and bathrooms. Legitimate 24 hour check in, unlike almost every other place in Kharkiv that lies about it. Not a party hostel, this a quiet serene place to rest.
Very minor - not all toilets have bidet sprayers.

Verified reviewAmazing value for money, especially if you're traveling with friends and can share the same room with people you know. The hostel is a renovated building, everything is new and comfy. The 4-people bedrooms are small, but the bunk beds are comfortable and you get plenty of space to store your stuff next to you, so you don't need to leave the bed every time you need something. There are closets with plenty of storage space, which you can lock with your access key. Staff are friendly and helpful. But what really stands out is the extreme cleanliness everywhere, from beds to the bathrooms (which by the way have excellent showers). They even brought us fresh towels after we'd been there 2 days. Overall, it was a great stay and I'll definitely be back there the next time I'm in Kharkiv.
There are cameras in the bedrooms, which is understandable and helps keep guests and their belongings safe, but still can make you feel like you have less privacy than you'd like.

Verified reviewThe hotel was really cosy, the facilities nice. The price is fantastic and the capsules felt private and were fairly soundproof. I arrived after a long overnight trip and the reception allowed me to check in early and there is very tasty food available in the kitchen area which was much appreciated after a long drive.
Everything was fine. It was a bit tricky to find the hotel but I just called reception. They speak both English and Ukrainian
