Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had a marvelous time in Sahari hotel and we felt there like in heaven. The hotel is just next to the beautiful beach. The restaurant has an ocean view and the food there is very nice. The breakfasts are awesome. The stuff is extremely helpful, so the owners of the hotel. In general the time there was very relaxing. The rooms were very atmospherical and charming. Definitely we would love to come back to that awesome place.

United KingdomSahari is the most beautiful resort we have ever stayed at. The resort is itself nestled in the sand right on the beach and is a quiet little oasis from the outside world. The staff were absolutely wonderful and felt more like friendly hosts, we cannot thank everyone at Sahari enough for looking after us during our honeymoon. The restaurant is very good and we had many days out organised at the excursions desk which were wonderful - our sunset dhow cruise in particular was very special thanks to the brilliant people at Sahari.

SwitzerlandWe didn’t love the fishing excursion
We had a great stay. The hotel is right on the beach and has a beautiful pool with very comfortable lounging areas. The food was great, especially the Mama Africa dish. On one of the nights there was live music which was very entertaining, is was fun to dance with the staff! The staff was super nice, everyone was very sweet and attentive, especially Christina!♥️

BrazilNot a bad thing, but if you want 24h access to the ocean this is not the place. The tide goes up and low depending on the time, and this may affect your ability to swim. I’d stay in the ocean all day if I could, so this was something that I wish I knew. Still, the pool area is magnificent, and you can still enjoy the times of low tide in other ways.
The hotel is beautiful and matched the pictures perfectly. In the morning you can swim in the ocean, and lounge by the pool or walk to the more popular village in the afternoon. For me, it was the perfect balance of tranquility where I stay, with the option of walking to great restaurants and good shops. The staff is also very kind, and the massage was one of the best I ever got.

United StatesVery isolated (you could go on many different adventures from the hotel but I just wanted to chill after a number of safaris) I wish they had a selection of pillows. there were other places to eat but I didn't try.
Fantastic room with a deck overlooking the beach and ocean, great spacious bath, cool A/C, comfortable bed, good food at the restaurant. Great staff, very helpful and pleasant.

Its right on the beach ! which was marvelous. The staff were super friendly and very quick to respond to our requests. Its location in close proximity to the vibrant Paje beach was excellent. The breakfast was very good although it was a-la-carte, but they accommodated all our requests ! The daily fruit and bread basket were amazing.

United Kingdomperfect location for a more secluded beach but still close by to do excursions on the island with ample time and the hospitality from all the staff. Everyone at sahari from Christina and adina on reception, to all the excursions organised by syed and Voiner, Steve, j4, Davis, Othuman, Amos and anyone else who I may be forgetting; every single member of the team made our stay extremely comfortable and lots of fun. FranceI had a fantastic experience during my stay at Sahari Zanzibar. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered a beautiful view of the beach—waking up to the sound of the waves was truly unforgettable. The food at the restaurant was another highlight. There was a great variety of delicious dishes to choose from, and everything I tried was fresh and flavorful. A special mention goes to the amazing staff and their manager. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always made sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. Whether it was arranging transportation or helping with excursions, they were always ready to assist with a smile. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to stay in Zanzibar!

SwitzerlandThis hotel is paradise ! We loved this place so much and we will come back for sure! It is a friendly, family and peaceful hotel where you feel very very good! The infrastructure is magnificent, beautiful pool, in a relax and quiet area and the private beach in front of this incredible sea is a real corner of paradise! We appreciated the concept of the à la carte breakfast and not a buffet which avoids waste. The residence is located 5 minutes from the center of Paje where it is easy to get around by ngoda ngoda (moto) or tuktuk. To top it all, we would like to particularly thank you the manager, George who was very helpful and attentive to their customers. We thank the entire team of the hotel, the chambermaids for their surprise decorations and their investment, Christina at the reception so kind, Jessica, Devis and the entire team during our stay were adorable, helpful, kind and very attentive. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable and wonderful!!! I really never feel good with a team like them before. Go there with your eyes closed it is a beautiful corner of paradise!!

GermanyFrom the moment we arrived at Sahari, we knew we were in for a special experience. The absolute highlight of our stay was the incredible staff. Every single person, from the front desk to housekeeping and beyond, was genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their hospitality made us feel truly at home, which is something you rarely find, even in top-rated hotels. A special thank you to Vee, who made us feel at home from the very first evening with her warmth and kindness. Amos and Christina were also amazing, always so welcoming and helpful. And truly, every single staff member we encountered was just as wonderful. It felt like staying with family rather than just a hotel. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-maintained, offering a perfect balance to feel comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making our stay as relaxing as possible. Another standout feature was the beautiful and impeccably clean pool area. Whether we wanted to take a refreshing swim or simply lounge and soak up the sun, it was the perfect place to unwind. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the people. The warmth, the smiles, and the genuine care from the staff made this one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place where they will not only be treated as guests but as family!

New ZealandKnowing that locals use the beach as their rubbish dump!
Sahari Zanzibar provides a quiet escape, with a beautiful pool area and restaurant. Bwejuu beach is stunning - although it was upsetting to see people emptying buckets of household rubbish (including diapers) into the tide

IcelandTo celebrate my mother's 80th birthday, our family of 15 (ages 10-80) travelled to Zanzibar and stayed at the Sahari Zanzibar. The hotel is located on the beach, and it was a unique experience to see the women dragging in the fishnets in the mornings, herds of cows strolling along the beach, and when evening falls and the temperature drops, the beach comes to life with locals strolling along and children playing. The hotel garden is beautiful, with a big friendly turtle wandering around. The hotel was not too big, the rooms were clean, and the food was good. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. On December 24th, the hotel staff arranged an unforgettable snorkelling tour, and when we returned, a fantastic Christmas dinner was waiting for us. It was followed by a dance with the hotel staff family, which was the icing on the cake. I give Sahari Zanzibar my highest recommendation.

NorwayNever got sunbeds by the pool as they where taken early and were too few. Some guest securing «the best beds» every day early like it was a charter holiday ala 1999… They have a 2nd reception for trips/excursions that overcharge. We paid 100+ USD for a boat trip to do some snorkelling. The actual cost was $20 taxi return, and $30 for the boat rental. They charge $17 for yoga p.p. There is no instructor, they put up an ipad screen to follow.
Nice pool and restaurant facing the beach, large room and good atmosphere
