Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgThere was a power outage that lasted until around 2–3 in the morning, making it difficult to sleep as the fans were not working. However, I believe this was an isolated incident and not a recurring issue.

United StatesI didn’t realize there would be no electricity from 2 am-7 am every night. Because the beach is hot & humid it’s a bit uncomfortable without even a fan during the night. This isn’t necessarily the bungalows fault, sounds like the government shuts it down.
I have stayed at this property 3 times since 2005! The owner is an incredible woman and her staff is so nice and accommodating. The food is excellent.

FrancePaje is situated in an area of high tidal activity. Therefore when the tide is out you would have to go for quite a bit to reach the water. So, unfortunately for me, this time I did not swim much. The place could benefit from a swimmingpool but there was'nt one. The bathroom was quite rustic....
The location was just by the beach so was looking out over the water from my bungalow. As I am walking badly right now the owner gave me a bungalow near to the restaurant wich was very handy. The staff was really helpful and nice. The breakfast was very filling and good. A truly nice time to relax.

RomaniaSome features could be upgraded ( towels, maybe some things in the bathroom like a proper mirror, and the lighting inside was quite poor - only one bulb that was not enough for the room). WIFI it would be nice to have it also besides the restaurant area. Is ok to disconnect (vacation mood), but to move every time from the sunbed to main area to check messages, or late evening going out from cottage just to have a conversation it was sometimes not really my cup of tea.
This is the perfect place for a quiet spot. Cleaning room every day. Wifi ONLY in the restaurant. Staff very friendly, discrete, so you can enjoy your vacation. If in mood for bars/ party, 5 -10 min walking on the beach on each direction you have from where to choose. Keep in mind that this is actually a cottage. So, the inside is proper cottage, basic needs in the same vibe as the island. Nothing fancy. In front of the cottage you have the sun beds/ chairs to relax and just watch the ocean disappearing / coming back. No AC (even I was in full season first part of February, I did not use the fan ( there was a fan inside).

View and the fact that the place was right next to the beach. There are probably more luxurious places to stay but none could offer the same wonderful atmosphere, view, and peace as you will find here.

United KingdomThe rooms were dark and without aircon (a fan was provided however). The rooms were also dated and the light was not really strong, Also, a little humid and damp however, with a little TLC and improved bungalows, I believe Paradise Beach Bungalows has the potential of being 5 stars. It is truly a spectacular setting.
Paradise Beach Bungalows was our favourite hotel whilst we visited Zanzibar (we stayed in 3 other areas/hotels). I highly recommend getting a beach front bungalow as the view and private sunbed area is outstanding! The rooms could be a little lighter, and are probably in time for some redoing as it's a little rusty however, for the price and the view and location we really can't complain! The location is a 10 minute walk along the beach to all the restaurants and liveliness. We liked that we weren't in the centre of it all! When there is high tide at night you can easily call a taxi from a restaurant and have them take you home. The sea is magnificent. If you walk left you get to experience wild beaches with hardly anyone there! If you walk right you get to see all the wind and kite surfers! It's really wonderful. The staff were very kind especially to Ali and the Japanese owner and all the other staff that assisted (I didn't catch your names but thank you!). P.s. their passion fruit jam is amazing!!!

PolandRooms in decent standard, a bit problem with water device (shower was not working properly). But in such a nice place you do not pay attention to this small things at all.
Very good location, close to central part of Paje, but not very crowded. Very safe place, good food and friendly staff. For those who likes party, each Tuesday, there is a pool party in the neighboring hotel, which I personally recommend.

BelgiumWe were in 5 hotels in Zanzibar, and this one was the best! The site is gorgeous and the staff was friendly. Yes, you can say that the bathrooms can be renovated, but this rustic vibe (e.g. wooden shutters on windows, padlock and latch to lock the door) goes well with the surroundings, and also everything was spotless, so really no reason to complain. We also went for a cooking class, where a family shows how to prepare a curry dish in their home. This was such a nice way to learn more about the local community.
