Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germanythe bathroom wasn't really clean. We didn’t try the food cause there were no other guests and we don’t like to eat alone in the restaurant
The location right on the beach and away from the other hotels was great.

United KingdomWi-Fi was not great and quite unstable: could be improved.
Big room and nice facilities. The resort is literally right off the beach, but it offers a small swimming pool as well and a few chaise longues and hammocks scattered around the front of the establishment, facing the sea. Breakfast is great and lunch/dinner menu is also quite nice, with a few Swahili specialities.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom is very old and the power of water was sometimes very weak.
Very quit and beautyfull place. Beach was very quiet. The Staff was very friendly and aways helpfull. They always took good care of us. Our room was ok, the bathroom would need a renovation, but the rest of the room was very simple but totally fine for us and we did not expect a 4 Star hotel. If you want to relax and don't need the typical touristic spots, this good place to stay.

United Arab EmiratesUnfortunately, you are away from touristy spots which limits your choices in regards too eating out and entertainment. Head north to Nungwi, Matemwe or even Stone Town. We hired a car for three days which was $30 a day, plus $15 for your official Zanzibar license. Finally, because you are so close to the beach and the accommodation is basic, the water pressure can be unreliable when having a shower.
The views whilst having breakfast are lovely and tranquil. The staff are kind, always happy to see you, pleasant but very shy, be nice to them. The rooms are cleaned everyday which keeps it nice. Juliana is very helpful and will make you feel welcome. The location of being in Uroa puts you right amongst the local way of life which has positives and negatives. Positives, you can witness traditional methods of fishing whilst not having a commercialised holiday (sun beds and music all along the beach are not here) which keeps it peaceful and relaxing. Value for money - yes, absolutely.

South AfricaThe beaches in the area are dirty, too many people trying to sell stuff and constantly harassing you on beach walks.
Rooms are big and comfortable, the staff were helpful to arrange a fridge for our room.

PolandLimited selection of food in the area, but we found really good grilled calmari for 15 bucks (Tartaruga)
It was a really nice and comfortable stay. We really loved the place and the staff. It is beach front, you leave the room and have the ocean literally a few steps away.

United KingdomThe breakfast was very basic and was outside. It was taken outside - there was no indoor area. The area was covered by a roof but mainly open. The murals on the walls were peeling off. In fairness it was not expensive, you get what you pay for. When I booked online the room said it was for 8 people so expected it would be large. It was very small with no furniture, just 2 beds crammed in. The bathroom was basic and we had to have water brought in a bucket one night as the shower didn't work. Another time I would pay more and maybe stay at the hotel next door which had a bar, restaurant and spa, all of good quality.
The location was lovely. It was literally on the beach. The meals were basic but made with fresh ingredients and freshly cooked. The owner organised a short boat trip for us which was lovely and she helped us to hire a car and book a safari. There were small shops/units on the beach with very friendly and helpful staff. The village was very friendly, everyone said hello, even the children. My friend bough a pillow which was handmade, the maker signed the pillow for her. The country is basic and there is only what is there. We loved the holiday and had a fantastic time - we hired a car and visited caves, beaches, The Rock Restaurant (magical), saw turtles, giant tortoises, took boat trips, visited a spice farm and went on safari to Tanzania - all 'once in a lifetime' experiences.
