How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. I needed to mail a package, and they helped me with the entire process. Location was great, right near the main station. Beds were comfortable and spacious enough. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing, I really loved this place and extended 2 more nights!
-The staff were amazing - Una and Xiaomei were gems; they gave really good recommendations and advice, and were just overall so kind. -This had a true hostel feel and was true to its theme (everything was named after different cities/countries, the flags to indicate where everyone is from/where they're staying). -Really good backpacker vibes. -Good English. -Great location (10 min walk from train station, near the bust food avenue, right next to bicycle shop, 3 minute walk to laundry).

Storage space beneath the lower bed. One is close to the room door, and which needs to be closed if the people living there enter/leave the room.

The staff is really helpful — they have many information about the attractions and tours which are free around the region The hostel atmosphere is beautiful e.g. they have every room named by different continents, countries and their capitals, and the common area becomes nice place to hang around in the evening

Location: not super many vegetarian placed to eat around
I really enjoyed my stay! The staff was so nice! The hosts gave a beautiful presentation about taiwan and the hostel. The beds are comfy! Everything is clean!

The best place to stay when in Hualien, if you are looking for a hostel with great international community, this is the place to go! Friendly staff that will do almost anything to make your stay perfect! Dorm is quiet most of the time, but you can chat all evening or play guitar and draw in the lobby. Very good coffee! There is a fridge to keep stuff cool. Can't really do cooking but there is good places to eat nearby. Don't expect a hostel for partying. But there is KTV and bars nearby.

Best hostel I‘ve had yet in Taiwan. Comfortable beds, really clean facilities and a nice atmosphere. The cute cafe downstairs is totally worth the (a tiny bit) higher prices. I‘d even recommend that cafe to someone who‘s just visiting Hualien.

We stayed in May 2024 and really enjoyed our stay! The lady running World Inn is so friendly and welcoming it really made our stay! She gave us lots of helpful tips for places to eat and visit. We really enjoyed cycling along the coast and eating at the night market. The hostel rooms aren't the biggest but they are clean and comfy, there are also lots of places to relax in the common areas. I would definitely recommend staying at this gem!

If it's important to you, be aware that AC in the bedrooms is turned off during the day
This hostel was great (clean, comfortable, very convenient to the train station) and Una was incredible! Not only for Taroko recommendations and just general friendliness, but also I was here for the big earthquake and she really went above and beyond to take care of all of us.

I had a great stay and everything was just perfect. The stuff is super nice and helpful. Everything is clean, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Social Hostel with good vibes. I can absolutely recommend it.

The bed is kinda hard 😔
I love the location because it is next to the train station. You can also take a bike for free in their hostel and go around all day biking I really loved my stay there .
