How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Facilities are a little dated.
Excellent location. Close to bus station a many restaurants and necessities. Staff were very enthusiastic and eager to help. He provided a (city geared) bicycle with lock for free, which was amazing, and the gears were better maintained than those of rental bicycles I'd recently used.

Good location for walking around the city and using public transportation. A bit old and run down inside, but good enough for the price.

WIFI could be much better.
Vintage style hotel close to the bus station and the cycle path. The owners speak very basic English but they are always there if you need anything. Comfortable beds and quiet place at night.

They simply pulled down a roller door at 9.30pm and I had to ask the man in the next shop how to get in. The lane around the corner! It was closed again as I checked out at 10.05am.
Convenient to bus station. Friendly. Cheap.

The hotel is very old and the equipment outdated - which I knew from photos and reviews in advance and don't mind at all. What I mind however, is cleanliness and hygiene. And that is something that should be provided no matter how old the hotel is. It was not the case when I stayed there. My room, especially the bed, was not clean. I'm not even sure if the bed sheets were fresh and clean. I had the strong feeling they were used by someone else before since the pillow smelled very used on one side and also the polyester blanket (no cotton sheet whatsoever) provided smelled musty. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The bathroom was ok, not too clean either though and the shower hose needs to be replaced. A very small towel is provided, which I didn't use. Yes, the price is cheap, especially for the location, but not worth it in my opinion.
Extremely good and convenient location. Really appreciated that you could get a bicycle for free to explore the area. Male owner of the hotel was friendly and gave recommendations.

The owner was a pit persistant about us leaving the keys at the reception every time we stepped out of our rooms. Kept reminding us even when we did so. Other than that, everything else was ok.
The location is good, and price is quite good too. free cycles

The owner was very disgruntled with us when we arrived to check in. It was like we were the biggest inconvenience to her. She turned on the TV and started watching the news before checking us in. They required the room key to be left on the counter when we went out. We weren't allowed to take it with us so all our things in the room were unsecured. We started leaving the key in the room so the power would stay on for the a/c but every time we went out they turned off the a/c remotely. In the morning we were on our way out at 10am for a walk in the nearby park with the intention of coming back in time for 11am check out. She stopped us and told us we had to check out now. She then laughed at us when we told her we would be back to check out within an hour. Overall, a standard hotel for the price, but the owners don't like having customers. Recommend Norden Ruder across town. The employees there are wonderful.

Be careful when typing the name of the place in Google Maps, if you spell it wrong you can literally end up in another part of the city. We called the hostel and even though they do their best, they don't speak a lot of English,so they couldn't help a lot
The location was perfect, the room really cool. The hostel stuff are lovely and they have free bikes that you can take anytime!! They are really chill with everything and they give good recommendations about what to visit.
