How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The gym windows could have done with some blinds
Good location close to Daan forest park; very nice buffet restaurants serving authentic menu items; excellent room service; very friendly staff

We arrived early and did request an early check in. After travelling for 15 hours, we couldn't check in and had to wait a very long time. We were all super tired and decided to chill in the reception area till our room was ready. The chairs they had is one of the uncomfortable hardwood chairs with no cushion, we couldn't sit there as it was so painful.
Comfy beds and enough space for a family of 4. Breakfast spread was good, had plenty of options. Staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Very very helpful. Gym was very nice too.

In the morning there is no place for just a cup of coffee, until the lounge bar opens at 11:30.
The Howard Plaza is a very well organized place to stay at a great location in Taipei. With shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, access to public transportation close by, and 30 min. walking to the 101, it’s easy to experience Taipei.

Breakfast items/choices were limited when compared to similar level of hotels.
The location of the hotel was wonderful and very close to metro station and department stores. The hotel staff were super helpful. However, the included/paid breakfast was nothing worth to write home.

The room was a little rundown, the carpet could be updated. We missed having a window that faces the world
The location was great for getting around and if it wasn't too hot or rainy there were some food options on the lower floor.

We had 2 connecting rooms for the family. The view was great and the rooms were very comfortable with compact bathrooms with full facilities (Japanese toilet, bath rub, shower) The location is great to walk around in with great coffee, tea and food options. We wanted to check in 15 minutes ahead of standard checkin time and since the rooms were not ready, we decided to walk around B1-4F floors of shopping within the hotel. We were able to rent out a Nintendo Switch for the kids during our stay- and that was a cool facility to have.

Surprised that rooms did not have coffee makers, coffee or tea kettles. Rooms are a just a little dated and did not have USB ports.
Comfortable rooms near great shopping. A short walk to MRT station and lots of shopping options. Great buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner with friendly and attentive servers and staff.

There were mosquitoes in the room which was a surprise at 14th floor. Nearest metro station is at ca. 10 mins walking distance can be troublesome if it rains (as it often does in Taipei).
Very good location in Central Taipei. Good size room. Good range of facilities available.

No coin operated laundry on site.
Beautiful hotel, excellent location. Very convenient to many direct bus routes including airport, Raohe Night Market and Astronomical Museum. Breakfast buffet was plentiful with a wide array of western and asian foods. Will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is older, rooms don’t have enough plugs for today’s electronic devices world. When we checked in they gave us a handicap room to be convenient for my husband. But the shower designed the water was all over the bathroom we had to wipe the floor. They did change and room for us.
Location is very convenient to go to many places. Staffs are all very helpful and courteous.

The hotel is a little dated so a renovation should be scheduled. At least for the floor carpets, which was kind of worn down. The air con is a little loud so do as we do request a quiet room.
The location was good. The facility large , well equipped and family room size was ok. The staff were helpful and attentive. They are environment friendly so bring your toiletries. Otherwise the room has everything. The breakfast buffet is more on the Asian style than Western but still very good. A convenient store is located a crossroad away. The shopping arcade downstairs at the basement are all fashion for ladies over 50.

The hotel was opened several decades ago and did not undergo any modernization. Although well maintained it looks vintage, a time travel to the ‘90.
The hotel offers great food facilities and is well visited by tourists from all over the world.
