The location is really good. Near the Tainan art museum, Confucius temple and Taiwan literature museum. The hostel is clean and comfortable.

I loved the ladies' area, which is very private, but be aware that some of the mixed dorm beds are in a very open area that people walk past to reach the kitchen and terrace. Also, there are a lot of stairs so it's not ideal for anyone who has mobility issues.

I liked everything - it's in a great location about 2 minutes from the HSR shuttle bus, and close to the stop for Anping. There are books absolutely everywhere, and lots of places where you can sit, read or chat to other guests. The staff were friendly and helpful and let me store my bag before and after I checked in / out. It is gleamingly clean - the ladies' bathroom is especially good; with loads of space and the staff were constantly cleaning and mopping the floor. There is a fantastic kitchen and a small roof terrace with a view of the temple and art musuem. There are free hot and cold drinks and some small cookies.

Very nice and unique hostel. --- If you're ok with smell of old book.l, it shuld be no problem. If you're sensitive of smell, better to visit old book store and staying for an hour before booking.

-Just to be nitpicky, they had a bag of local Tainanese herbs/potpourri hanging in each pod; it just wasn't my kind of scent. -Great insulation from the curtain meant that it got a bit hot/stuffy inside the pod, so just make sure to open it a crack to get some ventilation. -They have soft pillows which I think most people will enjoy; they're just not my favourite.

11/10 I was recovering from a leg injury and the staff were all so incredibly kind, patient, and empathetic. They helped me practice my Mandarin and gave great advice on medical care, recommendations for food/things to do, and they were so friendly, always checking in on me. They even gave me special accommodations (like bringing a chair into the bathroom to help with some adjustments to showering I needed to do). Here are some more specifics: -Great common area on the top floor. -Strong AC -Location & decor -- this hostel is so so unique -- it's all themed around books, and there are wonderful reading nooks (don't forget to head to the back!) to enjoy being an introvert. -Pods were HUGE and there were lockers below that were really large. The design was really well thought out for solo travelers. -WiFi was good -One of the best sleeps in a hostel I've ever had (I've traveled to 50+ countries)

I had a wonderful stay in Cao Ji. The staff are so nice, friendly and helpful. Xiao Yan helped me checked in and she was so patient and explained how to navigate the building, locker and all the details. She also recommended me nice restaurants/ places to go/ transport. I stayed in the female only dormitory and it’s actually the whole building! The room is so spacious as well as the bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place!

The hostel has a wonderful charm being built inside an old bookstore. The staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The hostel is very clean and the showers are modern. I'm cycling route 1 and the staff helped me store my bicycle inside. There is a washing machine and a dryer available for 40 TWD each. The stay exceeded all expectations, I unconditionally recommend this hostel.

The air conditioned was a bit too cold. (But then again it was in winter, I bet I'd have appreciated that in the summer.)

The place is very nice. You feel like you're sleeping inside of the bookshelf, which is nice. People were super friendly, the kitchen is super well equiped and the location cannot be toped. I really enjoyed the stay there.

My only complain is that there is no elevator. Moving big luggages to the floors above is not easy.

Great location. There is a Klin Baozi next to it. Good for breakfast. Walkable to many tourist spots. Welcoming staff.

As Tainan is not a very public-transport-friendly city, I'd appreciate it if there were more 7eleven/family mart closer to the location so that i could call a taxi.

Host was super friendly! She always greeted me with a smile and made small talk too. The shampoo & soap provided also smelled nice. I appreciate the free menstrual products AND skincare products provided. They truly get it!

I love the book set up. I also loved that even though the rooms were mixed that the bathrooms were separate and kept very clean and also had toiletries. I always travel with my own towel which was necessary in this hostel since the towel they provided was tiny. It's still nice how much they provide in hostels in Taiwan. The free bus drop off from the high speed train station was also very useful which they informed me about. I'd definitely stay here again when I'm coming back to Tainan.
