Reviews of Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Taipei Ximen 4 stars

Location was good. There’s always a line of taxis waiting to pick up passengers at any time of the day. Proximity to Ximending also meant good food is abundant.

The hotel runs on 110v, and yet reception doesn’t provide transformer. All electrical appliances count work, suggest the hotel address this matter seriously.

The location was excellent! A two minute walk to the heart of the pedestrian only zone, with lots of shopping and food options.

The washroom echoed and was in close proximity to the bed, leading to reduced privacy. Not the hotels fault but someone was smoking into their exhaust fan, leading to an intermittent heavy smoke smell. As non smokers this was unpleasant to deal with.

The room was spacious, very clean and quiet and had a great view over the city and the mountains. Staff are very kind, and happy to help and give advice and impressively multilingual.

Being lactose-intolerant and my partner being vegetarian, the breakfast was a little drab for our taste. We wished there had been more non-meat and vegan options (maybe one option of veg dumplings among all the pork ones). We would have liked to see healthier, higher-quality musli, as well as chilled oat milk or almond milk (instead of just warm soy milk). A few Western comfort food options (pancakes, croissants etc) would have been great, too.

It’s of a minor thing, but it’s located on the 4th or 6th floor j forgot. To get to the reception you take the elevator up.

Great location. Clean and comfortable, with all the modern amenities you need. Love the Japanese style bathroom with shower next to the bath and the necessary onsen scrubbing items.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is within Ximending but not in a very busy area. There are a lot of restaurants, shops and convenience stores around the hotel. The nearest MRT is within 7 minutes walk so it is convenient to travel. I would like to commend the hotel staff. The hotel staff especially at the Reception are very friendly and ready to always assist. Very clean hotel and we had a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

The rooms are rather small but this is typical Japanese style. The breakfast is nothing exceptional given the price that you have to pay.

Location is perfect for wandering along walking streets and close to metro stations. Hotel is well designed and very comfortable.

It is a perfect hotel Japanese style: the room was minimal but anything perfect! Te wc separated and with the typical japanese shower electrical ! The Cleanliness was perfect and also if they make the room on alternate days ,they always provide everyday a new set of towels! The location is perfect , near the metro and near s lot of shops and restaurants!

Only a real small problem: the reception is on 6th floor , so anytime you have to take 2 different lifts

I liked the hotel. It's pretty new and in a great location that very easy to get around. The staff were very friendly amd overall it was a great experience.

Great view from the room. Free drinks at the lobby. Comfortable lounge area to rest a bit after arriving from the airport. Free bottled water daily. Nice breakfast buffet. Favourite part about the room: small table and 2 chairs for me and my family member to enjoy our takeout food comfortably 😊
