My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon / a trip to Taiwan to see my extended family. The front desk was incredibly helpful with recommendations on what to do during our 3-day stay, including a little local viewing spot to see fireflies that was magical to see (I had no idea it was firefly season at all!), though I believe they primarily speak Mandarin Chinese / had to translate for my husband. Our room had a lovely partial view of the lake, and watching how the light changes over time while eating snacks we brought back was a treat!

The only minor downside is the room size, but it didn’t bother us at all — it's actually quite typical for hotels around Sun Moon Lake given the price range.

It really is a great hotel — we loved our stay. The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of the shopping district: the moment you step outside, you're surrounded by food stalls and restaurants (in a Taiwanese night market style). I especially appreciated the attention to detail, such as the complex light settings in the room, the laundry basket thoughtfully placed in the bathroom, the WiFi password stickers (so you don’t have to get up to check it), the local Assam black tea bags, and the beautifully presented breakfast. The bathroom feels larger than the room itself and features a large hot spring tub that's perfect for soaking and relaxing. There is car parking available, but it's about a 3-minute walk from the hotel, as the area directly in front of the hotel is not accessible by car.

This guesthouse in Ita Thao, Sun Moon Lake, truly exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the host was incredibly warm and welcoming. A comfortable and pleasant stay—we would definitely come back!

The breakfast coffee could be a little warmer. The shower drain does not have enough capacity, resulting in temporary accumulation of water in the shower room. Also, there is no easy access to shampoo or soap when bathing in the tub.

The breakfast was beautifully set up. The room is spacious, with a decent view of the lake and with good furniture arrangement. There was no daily room service, which is desirable for us (less interruption). The staff was very informative and willing to help. The hotel is located on the side of the lake which is opposite to most of other hotels. But we can get there with a 20-minute bus ride, although it would be good if you know the bus schedule beforehand in order not to wait for too long.

Basically nothing. The hotel is situated along a street with a lot of stalls on both sides , the street is closed for traffic when the stalls are open. We are not affected as our hired transport picked us up early.

Convenient location. Modern furnishing , good room layout, enjoyed the hot tub in the room toilet. Breakfast is on the highest floor …we managed to have it at the outdoor section and enjoyed the cool air and view. We requested to go up to the outdoor section in the evening so we could chit chat and have a few drinks. They allowed us up to 9 pm. The staff are friendly.

When someone higher up takes a shower it sounds like it’s raining extremely heavily. It woke us up a couple of times as people were taking showers in the middle of the night. It seems that there are mainly Asian tourist staying do it makes sense that the breakfast caters for them but if rice porridge is not your thing it’s not for you

Central location with lots of restaurants nearby. Beds were comfortable. Good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast is beautifully presented.

Even though the breakfast was beautifully prepared, I wish there would be more choices (e.g. selecting options the day before).

The location is perfect and I really enjoyed the breakfast in the rooftop. Additionally the bathtub is great after a whole day of outside activities. The rooms are clean and quiet.
