Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanThe room is quite old and dusty, yeah I said dusty not dirty. The overall environment is good. However, the facility itself is really old, during my stay, the wallpaper and door lock are rusty. and the plug is even wobbly and with no plastic cover for safety concern
Breakfast is not really high end, but with the price range, and the perfect location(which only 2 mins walk from metro), it is just perfect, and hot spring is really great and the location of the hotel is perfect for all tour sights. Not mention that all the satffs are all friendly and willing to help. I suggest coming here during Summer, since the hot weather, barely any locals will come, so the price is quite cheap on weekends. Just remember that you get to have your own bathtub for hot spring and cold water all you can use during your stay! IT IS A BARGAIN :)

MalaysiaRoom cleaning is upon the request of the customer whereby you need to pass your room key to the receptionist. Else there will be no room cleaning services. This information should be conveyed at the time of check-in. The breakfast was normal. The room lighting was dim as well as the whole premises.
Location is easily accessibly within the walking distance from the Xinbeitou MRT Station. The room's hot spring water bath tub is excellent.

JapanI wished for more salad varieties during breakfast time. The garbage basket was rather small. The room door lock may need some maintenance. Except the front, the other staff may only speak Chinese.
It is in a hot spring area and it was amazing that you could get hot spring water in your private bathroom. The room was spacious and you could get an open air hot spring ticket. The amenities like the shower gel were the best I ever had.

SingaporeThe property was rather old and not very well maintained. The carpet floor in the room is not really clean, you can feel the grains of dirt when you walk on them. The bathroom is big but, maintenance wise, could be better. Although this is a 3 star resort, it just feels that more could be done.
Location was quite near the train station. Entrance was a little weird tho, the official address was at the side door of the hotel rather than the main door (which leads to the lobby).

SingaporeBreakfast is basic and repetitive, would not recommend. The cakes looked like they were there for a few days and already stale. The hot spring was not as well kept as I hoped and the steam room was renovating during my stay. My biggest qualm was (1) check-in time at 6pm is way too late, (2) the room and bath were decent but not as clean as i hoped, (3) the beddings reeked of a smell even after i request to change the sheets (at first i thought it was pee-stained smell but after on i feel like it is the smell of the hot spring water).
For a hotel at Beitou, this one is one of the most convenient being 3 minutes walk from Xin Beitou station. Although the room and bath was large, it still leaves more to desire. The public hot spring was not as well kept as I hoped and the steam room was renovating during my stay. Most staff's attitudes were great except for one particularly grumpy lady.

United KingdomLittle English spoken. Breakfast not many European options. Bedroom had no windows and was pretty dark and spartan - I think the bathroom was bigger than the bedroom! There is a spar in the hotel but it's naked and single sex so didn't bother - went to the public one in town which was fun. Seems pricey compared to other places we've stayed in Taiwan but I guess it's a pricey area because of the spas? Would probably try and find somewhere cheaper next time without any hotel spa.
Great location near centre of town and a few mins walk from the train station. Friendly staff. Huge bathroom with black stone bath.
